rdrtech I was lucky to get an iPhone when they came out and found this great holder at London Drugs. http://www.londondrugs.com/Cultures/...0&ProductTab=3

It does everything I want to do an protects the iPhone very well.

PokerChip Absolute best cases for portable devices, bar none, IMHO.

They will be my first online stop once I get my iPhone 3G (that's if I can find one).

Nuje Every case I've ever had has left scuff marks on my assortment of ipods/iTouch, etc.

And then I found out about the Invisible Shield (or BestSkinEver, GuardFilm - all the same stuff, just marketed differently and sold at different prices). Anyway, once this stuff is on, your ipod/iphone/iTouch/cell phone is protected amazingly well from scuffs, scratches, keys, change, minor drops, etc. And the best part is, it's so thin, that you can still fit into any dock or other case/holster made for the phone.

It's a PITA to install, but once on and set, it's there for good. But when you do want to take it off, it leaves behind absolutely no gunk or residue.

jazzman, if you still have the original iPhone case and you want to move it, send me a pm.

aoshi I think the selection of cases from Apple is pitiful.

There's only a few that aren't just sleeves, and I only found 3 on their site that had belt clips out of the dozens and dozens listed. I ordered my latest case directly from www.marware.com since only they had a magnetic closing case.

I would assume however, many of the case manufacturers were caught off guard with the size difference between the 1st generation iPhone and the 3G iPhone (yes, it's 1.1mm but it does make a difference!). Give it a few more weeks and I bet you'll see a much better selection in stores.

NeilN @jaazzman - Thanks, I'll check them out.

@polaris - Yes I looked; lots of cases but not one holster.

polaris Apple has a lot of cases on their website. Might be a good place to start your research.

jaazzman I ordered a case and clip from Case-Mate (http://www.case-mate.com/phones/appl...4Pa38Ta38Rchj0) and am VERY happy with it. A little on the pricy side, but they look great and are made of high end leather. I suggest the carbon fiber leather case and holster.

The link above is for the 3G cases. I made the initial mistake of ordering a case for the original iphone (much cheaper).

Holster for iPhone 3G

Well it looks like I'll be getting my iPhone next week. Any recommendations for a holster? I clipped something like this to my belt to carry around a Blackberry curve: https://www.rogers.com/cms/images/en...01_300x300.gif Found it very convenient so I'd like something similar. I've read some reviews on the Belkin Slim-Fit which basically trashed it.
