57 This is perfectly normal as indicated above. These units download the IPG and other updates periodically, usually in the early morning, sometimes at midnight and sometimes at other times of the day.

I_Want_My_HDTV It's probably downloading guide information or performing other maintenance tasks. I doubt anyone is monitoring your viewing habits, though it is possible with cable technology.

sa8300hd disk starts and stops on it's own.

Hello all,

I noticed on several occasions that my sa8300hd unit's
hard disk will startup and and then stop on it's own.
And this is with the unit turned OFF !

I get up early to go to work and have noticed this on several occasions.(usually between 4:00am & 4:30am)

Sometimes it spins for a couple of minutes, I even seen it on for as long as 15 minutes.

Anyone else experience this?

Does Videotron monitor, or download my vieweing information?

Strange indeed...
