Emoh - However, you need not leave it on continually, especially if you are expecting a software update

Thanks jbracing24 With shaw receiver I left it on all the time I guess it's different with satellite.

jbracing24 Your receiver connected to Media Center is left on to record a program because MCE will only change channels, not power on unit. However, you need not leave it on continually, especially if you are expecting a software update.

Media Center PC/*Choice

Just hooked-up DSR207 to media center, but confused on whether you have to turn 207 off at night (with remote). I have the DVR530 on main TV which I turn off both with remote. Does it have to be off to accept downloads? Former Shaw receiver I left on.
