dissatisfied comwave customer
our experience with comwave is a nightmare to say the least .
after numerous issues with the service we cancelled and went with a new provider, this is where the nightmare begins!!!!
our original contract was for three years at which time we chose a new provider, as per our contract there should have been a $100 cancellation fee which we expected.
to date Com wave has charged our mastercard $536.00
we have been dealing with a person at customer service by the name of Alexandra at ext 2055, today she has replied stating she cannot get a hold of us, we have left three messages and had no return call , however today my husband called again and reached her, she assures us she us looking into our situation and will call us back , as yet no return call.
we want the charges reversed and the correct charges applied.
we are very concerned with what has taken place.\

Absolutely horrible service for a phone company
We purchased Comwave thinking it was cheap for a phone company. It was working for a while. Then we changed internet providers, and for 10 days we did not receive phone service at all after getting tech support for 7 hours despite going through all their troubleshooting, sending their engineering department email about ping results; our issue could not be resolved by anyone from Comwave. Our internet provider did not detect any problems from their connection.
To make the story short, here is the summary

|17671||i remember comwave said the quality of the phone depends on the quality of the internet, but you said you are with them for internet too? so they cant even have good quality phone lines using their own internet as well? that cant be good.|

|o giron||Just a comment avoid comwave they offer a lots of good things but they are fake, i really regret to signed with them for internet and phone after the signed they start to charging my credit card almost every two weeks, is hard to say but i was better with bell they offer me 70 dollars a month for 3 services, comwave the phone quality line is bad....|

Comwave - Not Recommended
Just got dinged by Comwave for $700 for early deactivation of my Comwave VOIP account. I wish I had done more research before signing up with this company.
Over the past 18 months, service has been sporadic because of internet outages. Not Comwave's fault until last week when the Grandstream telephone modem provided by Comwave failed. My Internet worked fine after I completely disconnected the Grandstream.
After 4 days of no home telephone, I'd had it and called Bell to get hooked back up again. Today, I called Comwave to buy their long distance service. What a surprise to hear that they had already charged $700 to my credit card to pay for the remaining 20 months of my contract. No amount of pleading on my part would change the Comwave agent's mind. In addition, he directed me to return the Grandstream modem to their office or I would get charged for that as well.
Needless to say, I didn't buy their long distance service.
Bottom line, if you don't mind losing your internet service and home telephone for several days, go with Comwave - their rates are pretty cheap. If you use your internet and phone every day, I do not recommend this company.

DO NOT give them your credit card information.Have Comwave setup your account,give you the account number,send you the invoice for shipping the VOIP adapter.You setup your account,then PAY the shipping charge,plus ongoing monthly fees online on their website. Allowing you to control the billing,where invoices match the payments made... Recommend checking out another VOIP service in Canada: Bell, Rogers, Tek Savvy. That said, Canada needs real national Consumer legislation,with regional protection,and CRTC enforcement of the licensee.|

|islander_85||My experience with comwave has been dreadfull, I pay the shipping for the ata adapter, receive it 2 weeks later, they tell me I can port my number which was a lie, they charge my credit card 50$ security deposit without telling me... Then I call in to cancel because I cant port the number as promised but they insist that I must pay the full 20$ * 36$ = 720$ + taxes. Im pretty sure those cancellation fees aren't even legal in Quebec.|

Service and charges, false advertise. I start my service with them on January 30 (when my number was moved to comwave. TComwave before give me an temporary number, "no charge just to try" Today February 14 I paid over $70 and I receive a call not to long ago for another $50 for taking my number away.
Bad. This people must be from another world. My first job in the morning is place a complain with BBB and with RTC(?) I am not sure if is the department looking in this matters.

First of all send it back a traceable way, which it seems you did. Don't wait for your statement... call the credit card company right now and dispute the charge... tell them the whole story. The credit card companies hate merchants that scam customers like this. They will reverse the charge in most cases right on the spot, if you can prove you sent the modem back... which you can. Also the more people that charge-back to a merchant the more likely they will come under fire from the credit card company as to why there are so many customers complaining, and i'm sure these pricks have loads on complaints against them... which means the credit card company will side with you right away.
