They do when they run them new. They don't when they run them for the umpteenth time.

riceman Sopranos looked crap!!! like SD upconverted or something. i know someone on avsforum (i think) was complaining about the HiDef disc version (i don't recall if it was blueray or HDDVD or both) but it couldn't have been this bad. it looked like the Arrested Development upconversion on CBC.

(ps i don't know if this post belongs in this thread or the other as i wasn't being specific about resolution)

Please see the following thread and don't hijack this one, since it only applies to BEV.

nfitz TMN (unlike Movie Central) is pretty good at providing advance listings. They've had the listings for the month of January up at their website for about 6 weeks already.

Cyclism Yup, I sit corrected, and edited my post. 6B is the final season for the reasons that oilblue stated. However, the producers were able to squeeze out an extra episode out of their scripts and footage and there will be 9 episodes for the final season.

Not quite. Eight "bonus" episodes will likely air starting early April (HBO is currently re-airing Part 1 of Season 6). The bonus episodes have been announced as the final ones of the series. If the recently released DVD set is anything to go by, HBO will refer to the bonus run as "Season 6 - Part II".

Several of the actors wanted to renegotiate their contracts as they considered the bonus episodes a ploy by HBO to add another season without restructuring their contracts for a seventh season. Consequently, you won't see any announcement from HBO of Season 7. It's either Season 6 Part II, or 6B.

Either way, only eight new episodes remain. Including the series finale.

Edit: Well, nevermind. The post I referenced was self-correcting.

Cyclism You are correct, 6B is the final season that begins on April 8th.

Boavista Well, this replay is suposed to lead into the last. The replays go right until the Sopranos FInal Season ( 6B) witch starts on April 8 or 9th at 9pm

Cyclism Considering that Season 6 is already a year old and has been rerun on TMN-HD at least once already (and everyone else is waiting for Season 7 (called 6B) - the final season), it would've been more appropriate to do a search and post in the existing Season 6 thread, here:

Sopranos TONIGHT on TMN HD!!

Well, scrolling through my EPG tonight only to find out that TMN and TMN HD are showing season 6 E.1 tonight!

As a huge sopranos fan this upset me because i've been writing to TMN for months now asking for a replay of any season ( so i can PVR it ) and they did 0 advertising for this.

Anyway.. visit TMN.ca for all the details on the episodes but for all us sopranos fans Season 6 is on tonight at 11:00pm eastern. So get ur PVR ready folks!

AJ Soprano! This sets up nicely for a spin-off for HBO.

biglyle I posted this on another forum, but will repost it here. My thoughts on the season finale:

It was a cliffhanger, it was just a subtle one. Now we wait and see if Tony actually got to Phil. If the peace will hold. In my opinion it wont, simply because of the last thing Tony said to Phil, "you can stop crying now". Remember how Phil reacted when Johnny cried at the wedding? I am guessing that Phil will now dwell on this last thing Tony said, and this alone will lead to a full scale war.
All coming to an end with NY and Jersey forming one big family with one big boss, and I have a pretty good idea who that will be.

But isn't the bottom line of the show to give us a bird's eye view of the day to day life of the mafia? I think that it's doing that - there just aren't that many exciting things that are going to constantly happen. Every now and then though, something goes bang and then it's back to the daily grind of their lives. That's what is interesting.
