Gray has the resources, desire, and track record to upgrade WYCI(DT) so its signal
reaches significantly more viewers in the market.
In fact, as its very first step when conducting
its diligence on WYCI(DT) and before even negotiating with Cross Hill to acquire the station,
Gray asked its consulting engineer to draw up scenarios for upgrading the station. Since then,
Gray has identified two potential sites from which it can install a DTS for WYCI(DT) to ensure
that the station finally has broadcast facilities comparable to the other full-power commercial
television stations in the DMA. After closing, Gray will promptly take action to file for and
implement a DTS or similar upgrade to bring WYCI(DT)’s signal to the rest of the DMA.

Under Gray’s control, the station will continue to air the MyNetwork programming, but
WYCI(DT) will also provide local news and breaking emergency weather information for the
first time in the station’s history. Gray’s management currently plans to add two hours of highquality,
local news each weekday morning by extending WCAX-TV’s leading local news brand
to WYCI(DT). If this proves successful, Gray will consider adding news in other time periods as
well. In addition, Gray’s local news team will have the ability to air cut-ins on WYCI(DT) with
coverage of local breaking news or severe weather affecting the market. Because the market is
comprised of areas in northern and central Vermont and the northeastern most portion of New
York, the ability to cover severe weather is critical in the market, especially during the prolonged
winter. These programming improvements “are exactly the type of tangible public interest
benefits that the Commission seeks to obtain with its ownership rules.”

It did ! Works perfectly for me even though it is now located between CBFT-19 and CBMT-21.
