Bayguy They sent us an email just last week about the changes. Also there are lots of chans now on Shaw that say "This channel has moved to HD" and it has a list of new numbers.

venture2000 I noticed that come September the west coast feeds of YTV and Teletoon will change from SD to HD. Does anyone know if they will remain on the F2 satellite or be moved to G1?

The CRTC allows 1 local and 1 distant feed for each U.S. network (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS.) An exception was made during the launch of HD if the affiliate did not have an HD feed, so Shaw Direct was able to carry the Spokane station in SD and the Seattle station in HD. That situation was always meant to be temporary and is now over.

LONSat I have posted plenty of things about the changes with links to all the changes which included the fact that Spokane would disappear. The Spokane channel drops has been talked about here at digital home since June of 2018 at least if not sooner. As to reducing content there are still the West coast feeds for ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. Sorry other than some variation in syndication content not much has been lost.

starchoice Posting where? The only e-mails they send me are to upgrade (sell me) receivers. Haven't received one phone call from them.

The point is, however, why are they reducing content and charging more?

tvmaster really, you haven’t seen a single bit of info Shaw Direct has been posting, emailing, phoning us over the last six months? I’ve been hoping the SD removal is done with already so they stop pestering us....

Shaw Direct Rip-off?

What is going on? My U.S. network feeds from Spokane on standard definition have been removed and the television info page states a new channel number but it is for Seattle, not Spokane. So I was getting the feeds on standard def and a set of different feeds on HD and now it seems that they are combining them into one.

I assume that Spokane is being dropped as a feed altogether? So they are removing channels and still increasing prices on a regular basis. Now they are also dropping the radio channels for Spokane as well. What gives? Where does it end?

k801809 Yes, CNBC was a bit of a mis-step yesterday, just some confusion after the HD didn't launch last year like planned (and it only came out of Advanced maps).
