jdevlin What dish do you have? Is it a DPPlus?
There should be a single point of connection for the dish, even though the 9500 is a dual tuner

Bell 9500 Hook UP

Hello,

I am a newbie and looking for some help to hook up a newly purchased 9500 receiver to an existing Bell account. Bell would not install the dish on my steel roof so I installed it myself. The receiver comes with no manual and I am not sure how to hook it up. I have ran the RG 6 cable and have the dish properly pointed but, unsure how I connect the RG cable from the dish to the receiver. Is there another piece of hardware that I require? Thx in advance for any assistance.

i bet the hardware supports it, but the software not really

So 7500 uses tuner from 9500, therefore you can connect many of these to single 9500 but you can only use two at a time. For example you have one 9500 and one 7500. Then you watching both at the same time it works, then if you start recording something then 7500 will be kicked out. So better setup is 2 9500 and 1-2 7500 so you have 4 tuners available. Well you can watch on demand on these as well if needed

reidw If you go to the Bell website, login to your My Bell account and pick Sat. Television and hardware tabs one of the options will tell you how many PVRs and receivers are needed depending on your planned configuration. Hope that will help you.

bobytt Thank you i got yesterday Dish Network Bell Expressvu Dish Pro Plus DPP TWIN LNB and will try to see if thats all we need. As I said its just one HD9500 on this dish so hopefully will work fine.

ExDilbert It could just be a simple replacement. It depends on what dish equipment is installed, what TV and other devices are being connected to the receiver and how they are connected. I would let Bell upgrade the dish, if required. It can turn out to be cheaper in some cases. In any event, negotiate a flat rate installation rate ahead of time. There is no simple explanation due to every setup being different. I would try just a straight receiver replacement first.

Seems like the hub is just a high pass/low pass filter, 9500 works without it same as with it. Basically it only needed if you have 7500 installed as well.

ExDilbert It might be possible by copying the program files from the existing drive to a new drive formatted on the 9500. This procedure requires a Linux PC or live Linux distro to access the raw partitions. It works for 9200 series PVRs. Haven't tried it on 9400 or 9500 receivers.
