ExDilbert Bluetooth isn't available on the car radio. If it was, later versions of bluetooth would allow playback controls on the radio to control the iPhone app.

I'm confused. I don't understand the title of this thread if Bluetooth isn't available. However, even on our old iPhone 5S, there is Bluetooth under Settings - Bluetooth. We have my wife's hearing aids connected to the iPhone via Bluetooth.

Also, I seem to recall reading in the iOS OM that you can control tracks, etc using the headphones, but we don't listen to music on my phone.

Do you have the latest iOS?

Jase88 You'd think someone would have created an app for this functionality via the volume buttons, but nothing that a quick search revealed.

In terms of hardware, I did see this which might fit your requirements.

ssbtech Bluetooth isn't available, hence the request.

Apple somehow got the bright idea to omit the feature everyone else has to skip tracks with the volume buttons.

ExDilbert My bluetooth speaker remote controls the music app on my phone. Bluetooth devices will often send playback commands to the phone music app. If bluetooth is available, I would try that.

Jase88 How are you listening to music? Through the iphone speaker(s)?!

ssbtech I must be the only one who thinks being able to skip songs without waking up the screen of the phone is necessary.
