MCIBUS A name is just a name. CTV got nothing on Sky. Just look up SKY branding makes CTV look pail in comparison. Almost every single channel Sky owns has SKY in front of it.

IE
SKY Sports channels
SKY movie channels
Sky(specialty)
SKY News channels

Viper550 Given how bare-bones and cheap these new brands are, you could probably rope Book Television and Fashion Television into this mess for just a full day's pay.

Their lineups scream CTV Drama Channel 2 (CTV2 Drama?) and CTV Drama Channel 3 at the moment

Dr.Dave The Comedy Network, Space, Bravo, and Gusto become CTV Comedy Channel, CTV Sci-Fi Channel, CTV Drama Channel, and CTV Life Channel, respectively. People should check their PVR schedules as some TV providers have problems with channel rebrands.

Two new press releases for the rebrand.

reidw Maybe that's how the CBC explains it today but when the original version was introduced in 1974, a sarcastic writer of the day called it an "exploding grapefruit" in his newspaper article ("The Star?). His description has stuck with me for at least four decades. By the way it has also been called the exploding pizza.

LONSat @reidw it's supposed to be an (exploding) gemstone hence the name of their streaming service CBC Gem.

reidw Trust and tradition and its 100% better than the meaningless CBC exploding grapefruit.

Another possibility is a takeover of DigitalHome and rebranding it to CTVHome.

Toronto may become CTVoronto and Canada, CTVanada.
CTVanada might be too expensive, but they can probably do CTV Brunswick pretty cheap. They can even still run it out of Halifax.

bigoranget My guess is the delay likely had to do with the APP redo

Dr.Dave I posted the Bell Media press release in June announcing the Sept. 12 launch date. I just confirmed it here:

ExDilbert And goodbye all my timers on those channels, not to mention the channel names Canadians have been accustomed to for 25 years. Change, whether it be for change sake, corporate greed, corporate bragging rights or all three is not necessarily good for Canadians.
