I'd say what's the point in live in prime-time. I don't think I've watched barely anything non-sports live in a couple of decades, since I got a PVR.

And CTV barely broadcasts any sports these days.

MCIBUS I like to know when this "App" or service will be available on the bell fibe tv guide so I don't need to view on my computer but on my tv without having to use a smart tv set/web connect to get it?

Tridus I mean, I'm not defending the rebrand. Getting rid of those brands is mostly terrible. But the idea that they shouldn't do it because Rogers equipment is so bad that it can't handle it is not a valid reason for Bell to not do something. Rogers bad equipment is Rogers problem.

Although I suppose Ignite will take care of that.

ExDilbert Most of the issues reside with Cisco, the company who originally designed and manufactured the "NextBox." They walked away from the issue by selling off the rights to another company, leaving Rogers and their customers holding the box of crap they created and were unable to fix. I doubt anyone could fix all the issues with this equipment without a major redesign and rewrite. The opportunity for that has passed.

I'm not saying channels should never rebrand. I'm just stating that Bell is causing havoc with other BDUs and their customers by engaging in such a large, unnecessary rebrand. It seems to be motivated by corporate egotism and greed more than anything else. It will confuse and inconvenience millions of Canadian TV viewers for little more than the chance for Bell to slap its CTV brand on existing TV channels and services. It erases popular brands that Canadians recognize and have become accustomed to for over 20 years. The new names cater to the lowest common denominator in brand recognition.

Tridus Rogers should fix their garbage equipment, then. The idea that no station should ever rebrand because Rogers has no idea how to handle it is pretty silly.

ExDilbert I agree but it's still an issue for Rogers customers and others on systems that have similar hardware.

LONSat The re-creation of series timers is a Rogers issue. Haven't seen any problems with Shaw Direct with channel rebrands, channel number changes or any other channel changes.

It will look better once they're all tied together in the CTV super hub.
I would have preferred that they did the rebranding on their streaming service only and left the TV branding alone. I doubt the TV channels will reflect the new branding for long anyway, they rarely do. As it is, it will throw off all the existing timers on the PVR and force the deletion and recreation of every series timer. Even one time timers created the day before the rebrand will most likely fail. The TMN/Crave rebrand was a disaster and this will be no different.

ShawViewer The absolute worst idea they have come up with..

ticky Completely agree on the logo colour... of course, CTV could also design a whole new logo for itself that doesn't look like it is from the 1970s.

bigoranget I think the logos would like better if the CTV logo portion was a single colour that matched the colour palette of the respective station (i.e. for CTV Comedy Channel, the 'CTV' bug would be orange).
