I just connected to Carrytel to see how it works. So far (5 whole days!), so good.
40 mbps down, 10 up, $30 a month (plus tax). Carrytel does not offer TV streaming or VOIP phone service, but I don't need either.
Their maximum speed is 120/10, which I will likely migrate to.
Right now 40/10 is pretty good compared to DSL, which maxes out a 16/1 in this area.

|greatger||I too am patiently waiting until my promotion pricing is over as I will be switching from Cogeco because of their unbelievable full pricing I will be required to pay if I stay with them. I am with them for everything, TV (TiVo), Internet & Home Phone. Currently Start has excellent pricing for Internet & Home Phone, much less than Cogeco. My home phone with Cogeco will be $43.99/mth with the options I require, whereas Start is $15 with the options I require (no rocket science here), and I doubt Cogeco will match that. They don't seem to be interested in keeping customers after the promotion is over.|

You should look into Carrytel or CanNet internet providers. Only $40 a month.

The power is now in your hand. You now have the ability to decide for yourself what, and when you wish to watch.

|cableredneck||You should not need to provide 30 days notice to any provider. I cancelled Bell (to switch to Start cable internet and VOIP phone) and gave them 2 weeks notice.|

Possible switch from Cogeco to...
.......Teksavvy. 1. Do I need to provide 30 days notice to Cogeco to cancel service(I believe this BS has been outlawed) ? Any advice/problems from someone who has signed up with Teksavvy in the past ?
