scrooloose Assuming the files are not encrypted and you have access to a computer with a DVD/Bluray drive, it might be easier to copy them from the disk to a USB flash drive.

gdkitty I had looked this up a bit before for someone.

yes/no is the answer.

As for a roku, etc.. i have no clue.
Android TV, one with USB ports, generally will support dvd rom drives. But not necessarily ALL of them. The more generic/nothing fancy probably has the best bet of working, anything greater requiring extra drivers, etc might not.

I think it then should show up, as a 'drive'

Using kodi or the built in players.. should be able to browse to the 'drive' and then play the files.

Streaming box with support for external dvd or bluray?

Hi folks, I've been looking around here for a while but can't seem to find an answer to my needs.

I'm looking for a streaming media player that will allow me to view downloaded movies from the last 10 years that I have stored on dvdrom and bluray discs.

Will any android tv box allow the use of a usb bluray drive? I dont want to view commercial commercial blurays or dvds, just the old library.

Thanks.
