denben73 It "sounds" better.

It's actually the third within the last year.

There was on November 15, 2018 also.

Second increase THIS YEAR!!

For the second time this year, Cogeco has yet another "price adjustment" -- why don't they use the word "INCREASE"?!
2019-08-16 11:59 PM
nicdim Heres what happens when I reach the review page before confirming the change-

Current package
$6 .00-------------------(other question- what is this $6 per month for my current package?)

Taxes not included

See details

Added fees:

Current price
$38.00 /month

Added channel
+ 1 channel
Removed channel
- 1 channel
Discovery channel

New price
$39 .50/month-------------------($1.50 was added because I removed Discovery channel and added Msnbc, why the increase per month?).

Taxes not included

Why when I modify my Cogeco My 10 Mix channels they add $1.50 per month?

Hi, when I try to modify my 10 mix channel line up on, I remove 1 single channel and select 1 new single channel from the selections that are available for the My 10 mix, before I confirm the change I notice the sub total before the taxes has been increased by $1.50 per month when I did not select any additional channels. Why do they charge $1.50 more per month when I make this change when i'm entitled to receive any 10 of the single channels from their channel selections? Shouldn't it be for the same price if they are 10 channels, it doesn't seem fair as to why there would be a sudden increase in monthly price, 10 channels are 10 channels correct or no?

cableredneck We had Cogeco until the middle of August. Now we have Shaw Direct and WPCH is in HD.
2018-10-02 06:14 PM
denben73 Nope. They never re-added it.

They still don't offer WPCH either.

The ONLY way to get the superstations with Cogeco is by subbing to TMN.

Along with that and the pile of missing HD channels, Cogeco's TV service is a bloody joke. I never thought that Shaw Direct would be the way to go.
2018-10-02 05:36 PM
waterug That's what it is on Bell. Crave TV is included and the superstations have always been available, depending on packages, but you never had to subscribe to the movie channels to get them. By the way, does COGECO include WGN? It dropped it a few years ago.

TMN/Encore Unbundling

Seems as of November 1st (2018), Encore will be removed from Cogeco's TMN packages. (This is due to Encore being re-branded to STARZ.)

But, in its place, they will substitute CraveTV. If you want the old package containing TMN, Encore, HBO, SuperStations (and possibly Crave), it will be $25

Inglewood I had a similar offer - I am only a Internet subscriber with Cogeco, but they offered me MyMix 40 with a TiVo and home phone service for a year for $39/month plus what I pay for Internet now. The price after a year is just over $100 before tax and internet.

If they could offer me that price beyond a year, I would have signed up immediately - however, I will stick to OTA/OTT for TV and Bell for phone at this time.
2017-08-30 02:15 PM
denben73 I would think that would be on top of the $25 basic (skinny pack) package. We have My Mix 30 and it gets billed as:

Basic TV Channels: $25.00
My Mix 30 - TV: $39.00

Below that is extra fees for certain Mix channels (like AMC, Sportsnet, TSN if you sub to any of them) and/or other standalone channels/packages.

jeffaustin90 I received this a few weeks ago and called. For me, it was the My Mix 40 package for $29.99 a month for a year and after that (I think she said) $44.99 a month thereafter. They send out those letters to those who have older packages that they want to get out of their system. I had the Digital Select 1 package since 2011 but I decided to change to the My Mix 40 with that offer. Now I have more channels (and channels I actually want) for less cost, not a bad deal.

But she also said that this deal was tailored for me, so other offers for other people might be different.

Cogeco special offer

I received a letter from Cogeco about a special offer and a number to call with the code YOU FIRST. To save me a long wait on the phone, does anyone know what this is?

Yes you do, not only that but you also have to use their wireless modem/router which also comes with a monthly "service fee".
2017-06-28 05:07 PM
denben73 Unless something has changed (which I doubt), you must have Cogeco internet to use TiVo. TiVo uses the internet to get guide data and other such info and using a third party internet service that isn't supported by Cogeco will just be a problem if there are issues that arise with connectivity.

Someone else may be able to give more detail.

There might even more info in this thread.
