Dr.Dave 'The Voice' joins 'Superstore' in getting Olympic preview on NBC

NBC will air a special 30-minute blind auditions episode of The Voice at 10:30PM Sunday, Aug. 21, the night of the Olympics Closing Ceremony.

Dr.Dave In an unprecedented move for broadcast television, NBC is dedicating two commercial-free hours to the Thursday, June 16 (9-11 p.m. ET/PT) second-season premiere of its critically applauded drama "Aquarius". The 120-minute telecast will have absolutely no breaks for commercials or network promos, with the only stoppage coming for a one-minute local news break during the show's second hour.

Beginning the following week on June 23, the series will shift to its normal 10 p.m. timeslot.

Dr.Dave NBC has set Tuesday, August 23 as the premiere for its new comedy event series Better Late Than Never and Monday, July 11 for the season debut of Running Wild with Bear Grylls. Both shows will begin at 10 PM.

Dr.Dave 'Shades of Blue' renewed for Season 2 on NBC

Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta have signed on for a second season of “Shades of Blue” in 2016-17. There’s no word yet on the length of Season 2 or when it will air. The show also airs on Global TV in Canada.

Dr.Dave The article explains the "limited series" ploy - "Had the ratings stayed up, however, it seems pretty likely that Kring and NBC could have figured out another story."

Other "limited series" have proven to be popular and come back for more seasons.
