reidw They are not charging for four months, they are just spreading the payments out over 4 months + $1.

abbydarren So this being the middle of Febuary I was thinking of signing up for the Center Ice Package with Shaw Direct to get the remaining 25 games or so. On their website it says it would cost a one time payment of $139 or 4 monthly payments of over $35, my question is why are they charging for 4 months when there is only 6 weeks remaining before the playoffs begin? Maybe this is outdated, I would hope anyway.

Romany Just tried to sign up for the Friends of Shaw to get the 15% discount for Center Ice,
I have Shaw Direct and Shaw Internet.
I was told you cannot do it,
because they run them as two different company's.
But they did try to sell me Shaw Cable TV or Shaw phone?
Shaw will wake up one day and discovered that Telus as totally taken over there business

frenchophile The Sabres are blacked out on Centre Ice for subscribers on the Niagara Peninsula. Any chance that Shaw Direct will pick up Sabres TV? I think this is exclusive to Bell

sawguyg I feel your pain sir I have the same issue with the Canucks and I'm really getting tired of the statement I utter every spring "just wait until next year"

JohnR sawguyg.......Long suffering due to performance. 1967 since last cup. They always seem to get off to a good start of the season but seem to fade after Christmas most years.
No doubt, they get more than their share of coverage but that is OK for us Leafs fans. LOL

d_source The 48hr post-game blackouts on GCL are for local blackouts only. Not for out of market games. You should be able to watch those as soon as the game is done.

sawguyg Are you a long suffering fan because the team doesn't live up to your expectations? The Leafs are about the best covered team in Canada TSN Sports-net & CBC all feature their games.

JohnR Magnet.... I was just curious as to why it was blacked out for me and thanks for the explanation. Actually I am a long time suffering Leafs fan.

magnet Because the broadcast was from the other rights owner.

If your local team does not broadcast its local rights, then you are Blacked out.

Living in Nova Scotia (Not a Jets territory) you get the right to see all Ottawa games on TSN 5, but all Jets games on TSN3 will be blacked out.

If TSN5 does not produce a game (with their announcers) you see nothing.

Thanks. I did not know about the 48 hours but I still don't understand why it was blacked out since I live in the broadcast area of the Ottawa Senators and they were one of the teams playing in that game.

I see that when TSN shows a rerun of a previous nights game that it is blacked out. I can't believe that a rerun would be blacked out especially since I live in the broadcast area of one of the two teams. Ottawa.
What possible reason would there be to blackout a replay? Can somebody enlighten me? What am i missing?

Caper17 Has anyone else noticed that there aren't many games being shown on CI so far. I know it's the preseason but the last 2 years I was able to watch most of the pre-season games on CI. I was talking to my friend last night, who is with Bell and he was able to watch the Leafs/Wings game on Bell's CI offering, but SD didn't have it, even though we are in the same viewing region as defined by the NHL. I chatted with a SD rep about this and he didn't know why. Also, the SD rep told me the Jets game was a regional Jets game on TSN 3 that would be blacked out for me but would be available on CI. However, it was shown both on TSN3 and the CI channel. I hope this all gets fixed up by the time the regular season rolls around.
