tripod Don't forget that you can 'test' 2.1.0.x with the developer/beta.. I currently have which was released earlier in the week. You can sign up at BlackBerry's site and enter your pin, wait acouple of minutes, then check for an update on the playbook.

scrooloose I have to find about 300 MB of space before it will let me upgrade my 16 GB unit.

j0dest3r I'm going to leave both of mine as is since this version is supposed to have a Flash fix and I use Flash sites a lot. That is until I discover some sort of issue then I may have to re-consider. Hopefully 2.1 will be out soon and it won't matter anyway lol.

shabbs For those that have upgraded to and are having issues, RIM suggests you downgrade your OS via DM. Since they've pulled it, DM will prompt you to install the latest available OS, which would be .358 I believe.

j0dest3r Mine are both up-to-date as well, no real issues. Some were experiencing battery drains and other weird things. I read somewhere else however there were updates from OS 1.7 issues and that is why it was pulled. Who really knows though!

Pinza Thanks for that.

shabbs For some reason, RIM pulled the update shortly after launch.

RIM had this to say:

RIM discovered an issue with the PlayBook software update. The update has been removed. Customers that have already successfully updated to version are not affected and can continue using their PlayBook with the updated software.
I did the update, have not noticed any issues.

17671 it would be nice to see the new 2.1 OS finally allow me to ues my and accounts right on the tablet without using bridge

j0dest3r Doesnt seem to be much different. I have to admit, I haven't tried bridge since updating. Everyone was waiting for 2.1 but got this instead lol! 2.1 should be next followed by BB10 in the fall / early 2013??

Access to 3G

At the price, the PB is a real bargain. a pity about Skype and Netflix.

90% of my use will be on WiFi.I think I will be able to access 3G through my jb'd iPhone, using MyWi. i do this on my iPad 1 currently, when travelling by car. Most highways have excellent cell coverage, with almost no dead spots.

I haven't decided to but the PB yet, because it is really a luxury. It's the price of 3 fill-ups of gasoline. Priorities, priorities?

I agree. With a Netflix account, I like the ability to watch it on anything - PC, Xbox, PS3, Apple TV, iPhone/iPad, Android phone/tablet. I wouldn't subscribe to a video service that only worked on PlayBooks and BB10 phones.
