yes im aware of the purolator shipping. It works great for larger items but when you get to the smaller items $50 or under the shipping charges do not work. Lat item i was going to order was a strap for around $30 the shipping and border fees were around $20 or so. Unfortunately i ended up finding the strap elsware for the same price but fee shipping...
I think this is a small gripe. I have always gotten great service from B&H and will still continue to use them for bigger purchases

|Zrock||B&H has great service and fast shipping. Only gripe i have is for the lower priced items $20 or less they need to find a better shipping method. It really sucks when the shipping and border fees are more than the product... Other than that a great place to deal with. Even when i had a shipping issue they came good for it with no hassle|

|Reed Solomon||Bought my HDHomerun from there, works great, great price (especially with the dollar at par) shipped very fast and reasonably priced. B&H has excellent support for Canadians above and beyond what most US companies offer (which is sadly often nothing) and they even sent me a thick catalogue.. err, catalog.. afterwards. How retro is that! My only lament is that theres nothing I really need right now even though I want to buy something from them again. Ah well, maybe one day.|

Purchased a couple of Canon lenses for my Rebel T3i, along with some accessories. Prices were among the best available from online retailers, and IMHO they've done an exceptional job in providing a great shipping experience for Canadian customers. My order was shipped Purolator (much cheaper than Fedex or UPS), and much faster than USPS. I knew my total costs (including shipping, taxes, etc.) to my door, before the order was placed. It arrived quickly, well packed, and exactly as described.
Kudos to B&H for the work they've done to make the international shipping process affordable, transparent, rapid, and reliable. I'll be ordering from them again.
P.S. On this particular order I saved a few hundred dollars taking advantage of Canon instant lens rebates that were only available in the U.S.

Ordered a replacement projector lamp and blower bulb for AE3000U. Good price, saved 10-15% over the price in Canada after shipping/customs etc...
Service: Really Good. I wanted to know if it was a Panasonic bulb, or aftermarket. Went into chat, and they were able to answer my question quickly.
Shipping Charges: Reasonable. Like the fact that I can see the shipping fees and customs charges up front and no brokerage fees when shipped. No surprises.
Shipping to Canada: Lightening fast, easy to track the whole way.
Packaging. Well packed and no concern of having any damage to the contents. Appropriate size boxes.
Really good online retailer.

Thank you B&H. Ordered a Plustek 7600i Ai scanner on the last day of the special offer (June 30). It was delivered here at my house today (July 6) with a long weekend in between on both sides of the border.
What I really appreciate about B&H is that their shipping to Canada calculates, and includes an option to pay, all border fees and taxes in advance. No surprizes when the shipping company rings the bell. It is sad that B&H is are not allowed to ship all products to Canada, but fortunately there is a plan B for that.
Cooper83 In my case the additional fees were less than $4 (over and above the HST)

|RickyCV||It's the brokerage fees that the couriers add that are the killer. That's why I only go USPS. If the package comes through the mail, there is no brokerage fee and usually no customs.|

We regret your dissatisfaction and confusion. You're not in the USA. This means that your government has various import fees, tax, duty etc which must be assigned to various products shipped to you. For some shipping methods, as a convenience to the customer B&H calculates these additional fees, collects them on the customer's behalf and remits them to your government for you.
You ordered a 29.95 strap which we learned only after we received your order was discontinued by the manufacturer. Since it was never shipped to you cross border taxes were never applied to the order. We refunded the 29.95. Unfortunately refunds take longer to appear on credit card statements than charges due to federal UCC regulations over which we have no control or influence.
Then, at your instruction we sold you a different strap, for 19.95. Since this strap was shipped, the aforementioned cross-border fees were applied. We did not charge you "the difference between the two straps in 'FEES'." We charged you for the strap and for the cross-border tax your government demands.

Bad business practices and questionable morals...
I have just had my first experience purchasing from B&H and what an experience. Bought $300 worth of filters, small bag & cam strap. Got an e-mail they had shipped all but the strap that was back ordered. Later got another e-mail $29.xx strap was discontinued and would I like to "substitute" something else. So I replied heck yes, sub a $19.xx strap.
So B&H CANCELLED the $29.xx strap, created a NEW ORDER for the $19.xx strap AND THEN CHARGED me the difference between the two straps in "FEES".
Unbelievable. So I paid more than 50% in "FEES" on the strap.
Outright dishonest business practice. But customer services says it is ALL OK because it was a NEW order. lol

I have ordered several times from B&H and they're great to deal with, with one exception.
Shipping to Canada varies from expensive, to downright obscene.
I ordered a focussing screen for my 40D a while ago. The price was almost half that of my favorite local retailer, a no-brainer but shipping to Calgary was $30.00!! I had it shipped to my Brother in law in California for under $6.00
That's my only issue. I see Henry has commented, hi Henry!.
I have seen other people in other forums post about issues, and Henry has always been very responsive and helpful.
Definitely recommended, just watch shipping costs.

nakedgord - The contents of your post suggest this may not have been a purchase from B&H Photo. I cannot find a Magnavox H2160MW9 in our sales database, new or refurbished. We didn't have Memorial Day coupon codes to the best of my knowledge.
If I am mistaken, I apologize.
Our international shipping options include UPS, post office (USPS) and FedEx. For some items, depending on size or weight we may have been obliged to block one or more shipping options. We always offer as many as possible. We prefer UPS for a couple of reasons. It's less expensive than FedEx. Compared to USPS, it's faster, often competitively priced, and the UPS online package tracking is quite a bit better. if a parcel is mislaid in transit or arrives damaged, UPS is quite a bit faster and more cooperative about resolving the matter.
For every product on our site, we list almost every available shipping option. All you have to do is tell us your USA zip code or non-USA country. There's a "calculate shipping" link on every individual product page, or you can add multiple items to a shopping cart and get a calculation for an entire possible purchase.
BTW, our UPS options to Canada eliminate separate brokerage fees.
