wzdj Not a bug. It's working the way it's supposed to. You have tv sound if you choose not to use the reciever and if you use the reciever, you can mute the tv sound with the remote.

Audio bug with 8642 PVR

Hey guys,

Just installed my updated PVR (from 8300) and just noticed a bug, I just chatted with the technical service and from what I understand I'm the first to report this minor issue:

From the AUDIO: DIGITAL OUT setting, if you select DOLBY DIGITAL, sound will still be sent via the HDMI output.

I'm running an older receiver without HDMI inputs so the PVR is hooked up to the TV via HDMI and I'm using the DIGITAL AUDIO output to my receiver.

My "old" 8300 did not have this problem. I had it setup exactly the same and no sound was sent to the TV when using the DOLBY DIGITAL setting.

Not the end of the world, I could use a Component cable instead ... for now I just turned down the volume of the TV (!)

I thought some of you might be interested in this bit of info ... "new" PVR with "new" bugs.

Hopefully the new illico "version 2" will make me forget about this !
