|freeetv||I’m looking at upgrading my antenna and maybe a booster. I was wondering what antenna you guys would suggest or maybe a good website near Windsor Ontario I could look at. Is there a holy grail of antennas out there? Or manufacturer?|

As my reception has been less consistent than before the antenna work, I emailed again and got a reply this time. Whoever replied said the work was done, they thought, but they would check into it.

With great weather going into next week 46 F for xmas day, you might want to do a rescan and tweak your antenna.
Some changes to our dial in Windsor/Essex county.
TVO is finally back as WUDL has now moved to RF35 and TVO is now the sole owner of RF19 in our area.It also does map as 19.1 not 32.1 as before.
The new country western channel called Circle is being added to WTVG RF13 Toledo as of Jan1 2020.You will need a good VHF antenna and point at Toledo to get this one.
WHNE Detroit RF20 has now brought back their classic movies on 14.6 now called Television DriveIn.Also be aware that WHNE will be moving to RF3 VHF as of March 2020.
You may also have noticed a WHPS on RF15 which is mostly shopping channels. It really blasts into Windsor the downside is no more WEWS Clev. during tropo for us TVDX enthusiasts.
Well there it is happy viewing and merry Christmas!!!!!!

"Unfortunately, I can't say for certain whether or not they will need to lower the power again for repairs. There's a possibility that they will need to temporarily for short periods up to Jan 6th, but hopefully this will be minimal. Sorry I can't provide anything more concrete!"

Yes, I checked again on the 18th, and it's back and reliable again. More or less I expected this is what I expected would happen.
They never answered my email.
Thanks for the help.

Happy happy, joy joy! 9.1 is back with perfect reception. The repair work must be done now. Missed 2 marathons but 2 more are coming end of month. Better late then never.
I know there's still an opportunity to improve my setup so thanks for all the advice on that. Will be looking more into that in the coming weeks.
Thank you everyone!

ILoveCBET, yes, the geo-blocking thing is frustrating especially since we are so close to the border. The only thing I can suggest to get around the geo-blocking is to subscribe to a VPN service. Some probably have a free trial. You can then select a Canadian server (probably located in Toronto) so that it looks like you are located in Canada. Then you should be able to stream any of the CBC national shows - not just Workin' Moms.
It is strange that your reception was bad last night. I briefly turned on Workin' Moms last night. My signal was strong.
However, I have noticed that the transmitted signal is very directional. If I don't point my antenna at the CBC transmission tower, I receive a poor signal - or no signal at all. CBC transmits a VHF signal. Fox is the only other VHF channel in our area. All other channels transmit a UHF signal. I don't know if that makes a difference as far as reception is concerned.

I tried doing a channel scan tonight in case the repair work somehow affected that and it didn't even recognize 9.1 existed so I guess my antenna isn't good enough even for the 86% you're getting today.

2nd reply from CBET:
"As for this particular problem you've been experiencing, I reached out to my colleagues to investigate and discovered that the repairs unfortunately were prolonged and are continuing again today. I will let you know when I find out more."
I really hope once this is done, everything goes back to normal!

I am located in Windsor about 12.5 miles due north of the CBET transmission tower near Belle Isle. I am on the edge of the "good" reception area. This afternoon at 2:20pm, the signal strength of CBET on my TV was 69% - 71% which was fine for me to watch - no pixelation. This evening at 8:45pm, my signal strength improved to 85% - 87%. Hopefully, that means that your signal strength is strong enough to record "Workin' Moms" just after midnight tonight.
As another option, the CBC makes their shows available online for streaming. I don't think US residents are geo-blocked. Season 3 is available without signup at the following URL:
If the above string of random characters is unique to me, then simply search for "cbc gem workin moms" in Google. You should be able to get to it.
Seasons 1 and 2 are also available for streaming - but it looks like you have to create a CBC account to do that. I don't see anything in the signup screen that would prevent a US resident from signing up.
I hope this helps.

CBET responded to me today:
"Over the last month, there has been some repair work being done on our Windsor transmission site, and because of this the power has needed to be lowered to accommodate the work. This could be the cause of some of your issues.
This repair work should have since been completed, so please let us know if you are continuing to have these issues more recently."
I am going to reply back to her to let her know that I'm still having issues and I'll mention the same for you. Perhaps you'll hear back from them soon as well.
