Talked to a gm/director today at lunch. Employee trial of media room have been running for a while now. Sounds like there has been an issue but it's mostly resolved( no specifics onthe issue) Upgrade should coincide for most folks with the martensville launch And thats intended to be 2nd week September It was supposed to happen aug 15 |

newalloy | I've been trying really hard to be patient... But when people throw out "next year" and then next year comes and then everyone is told "summer" then "end of summer" then "September or October" I'm inclined to believe this moving target will never be reached. Its so close, yet so far away. Your reps on the phone have been telling people to hang on to their service because "very soon" things will improve. If I listened to that i'd have had ****ty service for over a year longer than necessary. |

I've been wondering about this too I know that telus is doing it now, so it's likely just a licensing issue |

urbanracer34 | Is Xbox 360 support coming with the upgrade? and if so, is there any special requirements to get it working? |

Nope I meant what I said (but it's def possible the plan has changed ) Initial plan was to fire up places like barman martensville kindersley humboldt for a short trial and the flip the switch as it were in the big centers The firmware to support this stuff has been loaded to most of the 2wire gateways since may (QoS mainly) The stb firmware gets pushed overnight |

"Middle of nowhere" isn't being upgraded first. Its going out to non DTVR single line homes to start and they'll progress from there. Wow. |

Wow, Grandpa and Grandma in Elbow will sure appreciate the new fangled TV thingy much more than us hick urbanites. I'm so close to going to Access it's not funny. |

Tikker | All centers that currently have max are capable of doing it. It will be initially rolled out in the new areas. Assuming no major issues the rest will follow quickly |

the cabinet build is done in a couple communities
I sure hope so, otherwise it's gonna take another year. It's really hard to be optimistic with dates with SaskTel... you're usually right when you hear a date, and predict to add a year or two onto it. Fantastic news that middle-of-nowhere Sask gets upgraded first! |

the new middleware is going to be fired up in the new expansion communities first (as test beds, as it were) afaik the cabinet build is done in a couple communities, and I see that the construction guys are wheeling around here now, so it's imminent |

Have you seen starchoices boxes? The original pace boxes at sasktel were miles ahead of the 505/530 they're using now. Regardless the new middleware is great got to play with it earlier in the week. |
