17671 Yes I concur, swap receiver locations is probably step one to try in the troubleshooting, even though when you call bell they do not suggest this, its more of a troubleshooting from well knowledged experts

ExDilbert I agree that some troubleshooting is required. First step is to swap the receivers and perform a check switch on both to determine if it's a receiver or signal issue.

jdevlin Could be a cable issue. Can you take the not working unit to the other location and try it there? That will confirm the receiver is still working.

shag58 Hi I have two receivers in my home. one downstairs and one upstairs in bedroom. my upstairs unit is not working. all I get is searching for signal and the transponder screen just keeps going on an on with no luck The livingroom unit is fine and they are connected to the same dish which is also clear. what's happening and why can I not get a signal upstairs. It was fine until last evening.

17671 yeah what jdevlin said. maybe you have a different type of switch at the cottage than you do at home so your receiver is looking for one type and when you connect a different type you have to do a check switch for it to work, please let us know

jdevlin You may need to do a check switch if your dish setup is different at the cottage then at home.

17671 what city is your cabin located in? also which technology is your dish using? legacy or dpp dish pro plus?

DannaRud I have 3 receivers that work fine at my house and have taken all 3 up to the cabin (1 hour away) and they will not work.
The signal strength is 95%, it finds the transponder and gets to the stage where "The guide is loading" and then it never leaves it. You can hit cancel and the screen is just black.

I've replaced the cable from the dish to the receiver and still nothing. I've been on the phone 4 different times with Bell and they don't know. They gave me a number to a Electronics store in the area because they don't have techs in that region and the number is out of service and the business is closed!!!!!

Any ideas?

zingerd volume ping out often....making it hard to watch a tv program when it clicks even one word out. very upset over this

17671 yeah snowy picture is usually an input problem on your tv, or a bad/missing connection between the pvr and tv set.

jdevlin You have lost the connection between the TV and the Bell box or your TV is set to the wrong input. If the Bell box is plugged in you should always have some sort of image on the screen from the receiver even when off.
