ExDilbert Everything seemed fine to me at first as well. However, after some time into the show it started acting up. Picture quality deteriorated and then improved several times over an hour. Playback stalled several times over the hour as well. There seemed to be no correlation between picture quality and playback interruptions. I've never seen any issues like this with Prime Video which has been in use for many hours over the past two months.

57 I tried again today and everything works fine. I had to login again on both my Mac Mini and my iPad, but everything was fine.

I clicked on the Guide and started watching the NFL game on CTV channel 8 on my 24" computer monitor from 20" away and it looked great. I wouldn't call it UHD, but certainly HD.

I tried my iPad and everything is fine there too - obviously much smaller. I have "best" selected for the quality on the iPad.

My Internet is Rogers 30/5.

57 I only use it for the guide which is often more accurate than the PVR guide (if I can't find what I know should be in the PVR guide).

I occasionally stream only to test when people say they have issues. Whenever I've tried in the past it's worked fine, but as I say it's strictly been short term testing.

I just tried to sign in using my Mac Mini to test for you @ExDilbert , but I couldn't get in due to a 30111 error, which I have seen occasionally. I'll try to remember to try again soon...

I tried my iPad and got a similar error. I believe it was 30213 - there must be something amiss right now, but I just got home from a holiday...

Rogers Anyplace TV Discussion

Does anyone use this to watch programming over the internet regularly?

I hate to dump on Rogers any more than I already have but Rogers Anyplace TV is a mess. I've given up on the STB VOD because it is so badly implemented and often does not work. Tried to watch a show using a PC and Chrome this evening but it was riddled with issues. Just finding the show to stream was a chore. Search first came up with the show schedule only. I tried again from a different page and the streaming option showed up, way down the page where it was not visible until it was scrolled. The stream itself was awful. Picture quality varied from atrocious to good and it froze for several seconds on a number of occasion. There was no indication that it was buffering but that's probably what was happening. Other streaming services provide steady high quality streams and a speed test indicated that there were absolutely no congestion issues to Rogers main servers. After this incident, I've got to wonder if Ignite TV will be reliable.

oldyellr I'm not a fan of Twitter, only use it maybe once or twice a year, but I sent a tweet to TSNHelp today. Crickets. Either their Twitter account is a sham or they're not interested in helping viewers.

For the last few months, what I do is schedule a series recording (any day, any time) for the Pre-qualy on whatever channels it's supposed to air on. I believe I now have FOUR different series set and I leave them to record all the time, adding 3 hours so that I catch Qualy. On Rogers, you can't do a series for Qualy (or the race) because the name changes each race, however, you can do a series for the pre-qualy and pre-race (F1 on the grid) because the names don't change. Adding 3 hours after, and 1 hour before (for the race) catches everything, unless the race goes over by more than an hour...

I started doing this once "Manage PVR" went away to be able to cover F1 when I travel and to cover last minute changes. I hope this helps others who watch F1. (Sorry @oldyellr but that won't work for your 8300HD since you only have two tuners, but if you have another PVR, perhaps you can cover yourself that way)

When I'm home, I may set a recording for the race, extended by 3 hours, so that I'm sure to catch the race finish, if delayed, and the post-race programming.

Complaints to TSN usually go unheeded, unanswered. You can try "Share a Concern" on Rogers... Even if you get a reply from Rogers, they may simply say it's a TSN issue, which it is, but Rogers could perhaps put some pressure on TSN to not change the channel all the time. I see no reason they couldn't commit to TSN5 for F1...

oldyellr I got Sports Centre instead of the scheduled F1 Qualifying. I just managed to catch the last few minutes of Q3 live on a different TSN channel. I should have checked the night before if TSN had again made a last minute substitution, but forgot.

This happens far too often. While Rogers gets the blame, it's TSN's fault for making these unnecessary last minute changes. Why put Sports Centre on one more channel in place of F1 when it's already on 3 other TSN channels?

I put in a complaint on Rogers Share a Concern to put pressure on TSN to stop doing this. I also contacted [email protected] with my concern and got a reply to "call our support team at 1-833-876-4357 or send a tweet to TSNHelp".

Rogers Anywhere TV not working

I recently moved into a condo where Rogers TV is included with our maintenance fee so naturally I took the service. I have since picked up a cable box, opened an account etc but have not hooked anything up yet.

My surprise..

I downloaded the Rogers Anywhere TV app and could not log in. I tried logging in on a web browser. No dice.

Called Rogers. Tech guy told me that the application was "down for maintenance". I said "since yesterday". He said yeah and had no idea when it would be back on service.

Long story short, he told me that maintenance usually takes 24 to 48 hours and happens about once a month. Honestly, I could believe it ten years ago but 2018!

I have no other Rogers services, since I use TekSavvy and Freedom mobile. I sometimes grumble about TS and Freedom but after this phone call with Rogers, a smile came over me thinking, I get better service and better pricing from the alternatives!

oldyellr Still working on my Android phone and tablet. The email did say "Starting on May 31", so maybe it's being phased out in stages by area. Rogers probably has to get it done by a certain date.

57 @AVphile : In the early days of Anyplace (Manage PVR), it was not available between roughly 2AM and 6AM for maintenance and updates. I'm not sure if that's still the case. I rarely try to access it at those times.
