What is the best low loss 300 to 75 ohm balun to buy today?

Most of the info I have found on digitalhome.ca on this is about 10 years old.

Is the Philips Outdoor Ferrite Balun still a low loss balun, or have they been brought out, and
selling a inferior balun compare to what they used to?

Philips Outdoor Ferrite Balun insertion loss from the forum:

    UHF: 0.5 to 0.9 dB (470-698 MHz)
    Hi-VHF: Under 0.6 dB
    Lo-VHF: Under 0.7 dB

I would love to a balun with this type of insertion loss.

So what is the best low insertion loss balun to buy today?

I stumbled on an antenna design, that shows a lot of promise.

    I added narods to increase VHF-HIGH on your "NEW-UHF Free-Form Super-4-Bay, BowSwp=0.0-in, NO Refl, 4nec2 by holl_ands, 7Jul2017"

UHF gain = 11.2 DB to 12.5 DB to 11.5 DB. Pretty flat curve.
    VHF-High gain 5.4 DB to 5.5

The VHF gain is good from Channel 7 to 13

I re-scaled the antenna to have maximum gain at 605 mhz. The weakest and last uhf channel I can pick up.

You can find my post on it here.

    It is the second version.

I am a newbie at 4nec2, and don't how to optimize antennas yet.

Would you please optimize this for me.

It would make a good addition to your ImageEvent postings of antennas designs you have done.

    Hollands,

I think you mentioned you had an old 4228 that you were working with and was wondering if you actually installed the HHH harness modification to it?

If so can you send me a picture or point me to where I can see one?

    Hollands,
I know from your previous posts and messages, you don't believe in split reflectors too much (if I remember correctly). I hate split reflectors and am deterred from building one of Niklm's antennas because of them..... keep procrastinating, even though I bought the materials. The build would be so much easier if they were NOT split reflectors.. Could I ask you if you could run one niklms designs as a NON split reflector?? I was look at the DBGH 18 and 20 on this page http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=218570&page=2
    The data is all there....
    The numbers are very good.
Just hate the split when it comes to building it....
Also, how would those UHF antennas do on VHF hi?
    Sincerely,
    Schoolbus

Can you be a bit more specific??? 2-Bay Bowtie? Simple Hi-VHF Loop? [See my imageevent results.] Loop plus Reflector? Hi-VHF Hourglass-Loop? Yagi? Corner-Yagi? Some other? ALL-OF-THE-ABOVE?

holl_ands I will probably be building one of your smaller HiVHF antennas. I have looked but do not see any threads on any builds of these. Are there any out there?

    Thanks,

    Flint
