Yeah, the free trial period gets activated at the dealership and was already up-and-running.

Who has recently registered with the US, if anyone post the 1-800 number used I am wondering if the number listed on the first page is still working current.

I plan to register through the US to bypass taxes and benefit from the good currecny exchange, will take at least 3 mths subscription to familiarize.

Good deal at FS yesterday the Sportster 5 bundle with car kit and boom box for $84.99

hanks I was in process to sign up 1 yr w the USA but I noticed that a US subscription does not give you ability to listen to Sirius online any longer where as it is inlcuded with a Canadian subscription? So if you want it at home online in Canada you are almost better off subscibing here which sucks am I correct?

New US subs, and those renewing
are also getting hit with a US Music Fee of $1.98 US per month
and if you choose a $2.99 online listening fee.

Online listening is free with a Sirius Canada sub.

http://www.sirius.com/usmusicroyalty

So if you go with Sirius US it costs:
$12.95 Sirus Standard Sub
$1.99 US Music Fee
$2.99 Online Listening Fee
Total $17.93 US plus exchange currently takes you to about $20 CND

VS:

Sirius Canada
$14.99 CND includes Online Listening too

The biggest advantage with Sirius US
is the option to buy Best of XM that includes NHL etc,
but thats adds another $4 US to the sub cost.

So you'll end up paying about $25CND per month
depending on the exchange rates for a US Sirius package with NHL.

Another option is XM Canada that includes
NHL and MLB with similar music for $14.99CND
but lacking Stern and a few others.

Given the new US fees,
the CND providers seem to have the best value now?

Also with a CND sub no worries / hassle when its time to cancel or change credit card info.
You can not cancel your US sub online,
you need to call in and they could close the US toll free number to Canadian callers.

A chargeback could be initiated on your credit card if you can't cancel any other way.

You might be able to use Skype too, to call the US number to cancel.

It's just one more thing that's a bit of a hassle compared to a
CND sub.

I'd bet the new US fees are the deal breaker now for many here,
making CND subs more attractive, but I'd expect to see some
fees added here before too before long

Called today as both my subs are up for renewal next month. called 1-888-601-6297.. transferred me to cancellations because i wanted to get rid of one of my 2 subs ( because i have an XM canada sub at home).. The nice girl on the phone offered me the full year of the sub i wanted to cancell at half price if i would keep it so i said sure!.. then i asked about the internet radio for 2.99/month and she said if i signed up for that she would renew my second sub at half price also, so once again i said sure!! So i got a double deal today without even trying. Pretty happy

2 subs with 1 year subscription, for half price plus Sirius online listening for 35 bucks for the year.

Talking

Hello all, I have been reading this thread since my old SiriusOne died on me the other day. I have a US sub and needed to swap my tuner out with a new one. I called the US customer service number that is above in Nilsm's post and got through right away. I called from my canadian landline and confirmed my canadian cell phone number that is on the account. They confirmed the american address I had given them and the account number and asked for the SID from the new canadian tuner. The CSR asked me for my authorization to charge $15 to my canadian CC for a transfer. I acted mildly indignant about it and ended up having it waived 'this time.' That was it. No cross reference with CC address or anything like that. I hope that helps any of you that were leery of the process. Doesn't seem like stopping us canadians wanting american radio programming is high on their priorities list

Just wanted to add that I also called the US CS# from a CDN landline, and had exactly the same experience as PhantomLimb.

What do you get with a US Subscription over a Canadian subscription?

I decided to cancel my Inno for the winter, so I called xm and they offered $88 all in for the main radio for a year, and $88 for my second radio, $23 for 5 months on my 3rd and 4th radios.
