Again, I'll be paying close attention to this thread as my Sirius sub is about to jump the shark in late December.

I will miss it if I have to let it go but OH BOY IS THE SOUND TINNY. Now that Bluetooth car decks handle iphone streaming just fine there's hardly any justification for it... The internet feed does a good job but only in urban areas...

Oh well, we'll see how low they're willing to go to keep me after 10 years with the service.

Sirius launched in Canada in November of 2005. That is only 7 years ago. Perhaps you have an American subscription. They launched in July of 2002.

Just called in to cancel my sub since the price for the radio and streaming per month becomes astronomical in February. They first offered me 1-year for ~$75 for Sirius Select (no streaming) and then after I politely declined, offered 6-months for $30. I passed on both because half of my listening is done at home via streaming and I'm in my car for maybe an hour at most per day.

I'll now sit back and see if they offer any combo "please come back!" offers after February.

My sub. was up last week and decided I wasn't going to pay the $210, I've been paying full price for years until last year when they knocked of about $30 for the year. I checked my account before I called and found they had already credited my card without approval.

I called and had it out with a rep. and he agreed to credit my account and give me the year for $75. He then proceeded to leave me on hold for over a half hour claiming they had to get approval from a supervisor. The kicker is when I checked my account this week, nothing has changed. I called back and expressed my extreme displeasure. After going through it all again, the new rep was asking me for all my details so he could make sure that he credited my account when I realized the previous guy didn't even ask me for any of my personal details or verified my card. They just strung me along to see how long they could leave me on hold.

Not too impressed with the whole company and if I hadn't upgraded my radio and added a home docking station a few months ago I'd have cancelled everything outright. Moral of the story is to beware, some of these guys are obviously not to reputable.

^^ Yup they screwed me around too, Visa credited my account and that was the end of Sirius for me, Pretty bad business practice, Screw me and I am gone. Luckily there are other options, with much better sound.

Is $75 the total or are there other fees on top?

Does that include streaming?

They might be making a mistake to try and make streaming a separate pay service.

Earlier in December I also received one year at $75.00 for the 1st radio/boombox (Sirius Select with SiriusXM Internet) and $50.00 for the second (2011 Chrysler vehicle with Sirius Select). Taxes plus the mrp were extra.

I just got one year for ~150 including taxes and online streaming. Given that that is about half the price of the publishes price for 1 year of service plus $48 for streaming + taxes, I am pretty happy with that.

Thumbs down

Given that the internet streaming only works half the time, that's about what it's worth.

Have you noticed it's been acting strange lately? When I stream on demand content it will play for about 11-15 minutes, then jump backwards by 11-15 minutes.

They player still kicks you out after 1 hr 25 minutes, but in between it might play the same 12 minute section seven times.
