I'm really glad we got the lifetime while we could, the only annoyance is that I have to call them each year to get the online for free :\ they tell me it's included but the computers are not set up to recognize it .. whatever lol

I previously had 6 months all access + online for $54 +tax and fee. It was up on feb 28.

Yesterday, I called, and they would do the same, or alternatively, they would give me 1 year at 118.00 + taxes and fee, so my bill for 1 year was $140 + change all in. I have to phone back next Feb 24, 2020, cost me marginally more than double, but the small excess was worth putting off the call for a year. Includes all channels and online access, + Howard Stern, etc.

Expiring package: SiriusXM Select 6 Months promo at $36 + $5.11 "Music Royalty & Regulatory Fees" + HST = $46.45.

Called in to cancel today, but decided to accept a 1-year offer, (no 6-month plans were offered to me):

SiriusXM Select 1 Year = $87.56
Music Royalty & Regulatory Fee (14.2%) = $12.43
Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) = $12.94
Total = $112.93

It is of course more costly than I would have liked, but it will do for now I suppose.

Regular "1 year" price, as posted on SiriusXM website, is $241.18 (after adding fees & taxes), which is beyond ridiculous.

I called in on June 14, first guy wouldn't budge off $333.

After 5 minutes flipped to second guy.

He offered a one year package: SiriusXM All Access (includes all channels and online access) for $151 all in so I took it. (seemed fair to me)

My 6 month promo expires next month and I think I will probably cancel the service. My wife and I enjoy it but we are retired and on a fixed income and can’t really afford to pay full price. We only listen to a couple stations and probably not worth the money. If they offered me a decent 12 month promo I’d probably consider it if it was reasonable. I wonder if SiriusXM offers a senior discount ?

Another thing....I have a lifetime US subscription on an old portable radio in my old truck that it rarely use but the service is still active. I wonder if I could transfer that over to my car after the promo ends and I cancel next month ?
Just wondering.

SiriusXM introduces new streaming subscription package

The Essential package features more than 300 channels and is priced at $1 for the first three months, then $8 per month thereafter. To subscribe, visit siriusxm.ca/essential-three-months.

Listeners who subscribe to the Essential package will have several options for listening to SiriusXM, including on their smartphones and tablets via the SiriusXM app, via the SiriusXM.ca web player, and on connected devices in the home including devices with Amazon Alexa, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, smart TVs, Sonos speakers, Sony PlayStation, and more.

In addition to the launch of the Essential package, SiriusXM will also introduce new pricing for the Premier Streaming package, offering 300+ channels of endless audio entertainment, Howard Stern's two full-time audio channels and Howard Video, On Demand content, as well as NBA, NHL, NCAA channels and more. For more info on what channels are available on various SiriusXM subscriptions, go to siriusxm.ca/plans.

That's a move in the right direction. The Essential Package is similar to the SiriusXM Select package but lacks all the sports as well as Howard Stern. I signed up for the 6 month $5/mo SiriusXM Select package promo and called to cancel when they wanted to increase it to $16.99/mo plus fees. When I told the CSR it was too expensive she just cancelled it. I haven't received any offers by email either. What a lame company. When I had the US SiriusXM they always gave me a discount offer. Just how much do they expect to get for streaming radio when the competition is often free. iHeartRadio and Pandora are US$5/mo. Livexlive (formerly Slacker) is about US$2-$3/mo.

"A Music Royalty and Administrative Fee (MRF) of 10.2% of the subscription price and taxes apply." That makes it closer to $9 plus tax. I'll wait for the free preview or a better offer.

Does Sirius still offer a lifetime subscription? My buddy paid about $400 a decade ago, a one-time fee, and he still has it to this day. I tried looking online for the same offer but can't find any info on it.

...this is a signature...

All lifetime subscription sales were stopped several years ago. I think they were limited to the life of the radio before that.

Just did my obligatory annual call in. First csr could not/would not help, transferred to retentions, offered the streaming/car package for 150$, I said I had seen it online for 99$.

Then offered the car only package for 99$, I replied I had seen the car only package for 30$ for 6 months. I said I would not pay more than 60$ per radio for a year's service. They agreed.

Such a dance. Crazy practice.

That $60 quote may be subject to "Music Royalty & Regulatory Fees" of 14.2% + 13% HST.

Still, you're a better dancer than I was when I renewed back in March.
