Ditch satellite radio & go back to FM? The commercials on FM are too much to take. Once you`ve had satellite it`s hard to go back to FM. You need lots of presets on your FM radio to get away from them.

I just did it. Not a problem. Had Sirius for 5 years and now no more.

At least you have CKUA in Airdrie. Feel for me, who has the choice of CJ92 or Jackfm! Satellite all the way for me!

Ditch the cost of sat radio.I did with Slacker Radio on my phone and on my Sony Blu ray player at home.

Slacker Radio is free and sounds just like sat radio IMHO.I love it.

My fav;s right now are 70's hits, hard Rock, Party metal, Classic metal, Comedy

Download the free app for Iphone & Android.Check it out.

I'm not a fan of the formula type theme channels on sat radio, so I doubt I would like them from the net, either. Since Tommy Boyce started selling play lists to stations in the 70's, radio stations catering to specific demographics have sucked. I listen almost exclusively to "The Loft" run by Mike Marrone. He constantly rails against the play list crowd and hires his hosts accordingly. Currently the Loft features shows hosted by Lou Reed, Bernie Taupin, David Johansen, Vin Scelsa (my personal favourite), Mike himself, Franny Thomas and Meg Griffin. They're all very good DJs and play music from all eras and many types. Living in a rural area, it's my source for new music and great music that's new to me. Well worth the $75-$95 per year that I've paid the past 5 or so years. I broadcast it throughout our small resort on fm, so my guests and I can listen to it in any building.

Just called Sirius, as my renewal date is Sept. 20. went through the prompts to #5 to cancel. When the gentleman answered, I said my renewal notice come in and I wanted to cancel as I don't listen to it much. He offerd 60.08, for a year, all in with, no discussion at all.

Happy at that price.

Canceled Sirius less than a month ago. The retention deal they gave me wasn't good at all so I passed. This week, they've been calling twice a day, but always when I'm away so I can't get the call. I'm wondering if they have a new offer....

I'm in a similar situation - my trial is a few weeks away from ending. $140/year is still too expensive for me to continue. I take it the $75/year (or below) deals are for those you've already paid for XM and need to renew, and not for people in my situation (converting from trial to paying customer)?

Please correct me if I misunderstand.

Question Converting from Trial to a paying customer

I found some stuff poking around this forum and I've sort of answered my own question.

If I use promo code SAVE50PA on the xmradio dot ca website, it comes out to $82.49 + 11.64 Royalty + 12.24 HST = $106.37 for 12 months.

Now my question is - is that the best offer I can hope for?

Is that for the regular, basic service or the package with Howard Stern? If it is with Stern included that is by far the best deal you will get.

Just received an email about my automatic credit card renewal for 175.89+ tax. Phoned Sirius, spoke with retentions, was offered 1 year for just over $80 all in. Happy with price for another year.

Steelers fan since 95.

I now have free Sirius for a year, because I just bought a new vehicle. Then Sirius tacked on the rest of my current subscription and after a bit of discussion (beginning February 2015) I will go back to Mostly Music package, for $73.
