I'm not a fan of the formula type theme channels on sat radio, so I doubt I would like them from the net, either. Since Tommy Boyce started selling play lists to stations in the 70's, radio stations catering to specific demographics have sucked. I listen almost exclusively to "The Loft" run by Mike Marrone. He constantly rails against the play list crowd and hires his hosts accordingly. Currently the Loft features shows hosted by Lou Reed, Bernie Taupin, David Johansen, Vin Scelsa (my personal favourite), Mike himself, Franny Thomas and Meg Griffin. They're all very good DJs and play music from all eras and many types. Living in a rural area, it's my source for new music and great music that's new to me. Well worth the $75-$95 per year that I've paid the past 5 or so years. I broadcast it throughout our small resort on fm, so my guests and I can listen to it in any building.
