Hello! I am a sole proprietor, with 2 businesses, working out of a spare apt bedroom. My phone (Siemens Gigaset DX800a, Gigaset DX800A all in one,) is a hybrid; I have been using it with a Bell business landline, 10/100M router and DSL modem. No problems.
I now want to separate my businesses and use VoIP for one of them. I contacted CanQuest, they assured me my setup would not be a problem, and the (contracted) tech guys came on schedule. However, it turns out CanQuest's system requires the use of a Grandstream router, which apparently is incompatible with PBX phones and it's "my responsibility" to ensure I have the right equipment, i.e. I'm now stuck (un)plugging cables whenever I want to use the other line.
My question to the forum is: can anyone suggest a workaround for the DX800a so that it will recognize the Grandstream?
For that matter, does anyone on the forum have experience with a DX800a? We seem to be few and far between in Canada.
