Comwave - Not Recommended
Just got dinged by Comwave for $700 for early deactivation of my Comwave VOIP account. I wish I had done more research before signing up with this company.
Over the past 18 months, service has been sporadic because of internet outages. Not Comwave's fault until last week when the Grandstream telephone modem provided by Comwave failed. My Internet worked fine after I completely disconnected the Grandstream.
After 4 days of no home telephone, I'd had it and called Bell to get hooked back up again. Today, I called Comwave to buy their long distance service. What a surprise to hear that they had already charged $700 to my credit card to pay for the remaining 20 months of my contract. No amount of pleading on my part would change the Comwave agent's mind. In addition, he directed me to return the Grandstream modem to their office or I would get charged for that as well.
Needless to say, I didn't buy their long distance service.
Bottom line, if you don't mind losing your internet service and home telephone for several days, go with Comwave - their rates are pretty cheap. If you use your internet and phone every day, I do not recommend this company.
