Question Any Info On BlackBerry Bold?

I am still waiting for the RIM 3G product. So let's start a thread on the BlackBerry BOLD

Any information?

- Release date for Canada
- Will only Rogers offer it
- Are other wireless providers upgrading their system so they can handle the 3G products
- Can existing Roger customers get a new 3 year contract and get the same price as a new sign-up
- Any views on Is it wortj waiting for?

The Globe and Mail, yesterday, gave August as the release date for the Bold. I believe there will be CDMA and GSM versions so Telus, Bell and Rogers should all be offering it by the end of 2008.

Before Bell will get the Bold, they will have exclusivity on the Thunder. At least that is what the rumours are saying (very reliable rumours, but rumours none the less ).

Unconfirmed of course - but my corporate Rogers rep says that the release date is July 25th for the Bold.

Rogers: Only Rogers, for now - Bell/Telus probably during 2009. Bell will have the multitouch-touchscreen BlackBerry first.
- Not yet about other carriers. Rumors persist that we'll have another 3G carrier based on the same tech as Rogers (either Bell upgrading network, or a new carrier), but this will take a few years to be reality.
- You are HUP eligible if you're already 12 to 18 months into contract. (Hardware Upgrade Program). So if your 3-year contract is 18 months old, you probably can get a BlackBerry Bold at upgrade pricing. Call Rogers and ask if you qualify for Hardware Upgrade. Your contract will be reset to 3 years once you pay the discounted (subsidized) pricing of the BlackBerry Bold, but you would qualify.
