Wireless Communication System

Hey Folks,

I'm trying to find a wireless communication system similar to a Mike Phone that can span 350km. Would a CB Radio work? Would only cellular work or what about Satellite phones?

Outside cellular range, a good inexpensive satellite based one-way emergency communication device is the SPOT system. Details are their home page: www.findmespot.com. If you are alone in a faraway place and about to lose consciousness; it can save your life. What I like best about it is that you can program it in advance for the closest S&R station; the response time is much faster than a conventional EPIRB system.

A few good quality FRS radios should do fine as long as the cars will be within a few miles of each other. Cost for a pair of radios should cost less than $50 -$75.

these have up to 32 km range,
