Note 3 horrible wifi

Ive had a note 3 for a year now and all of a sudden the wifi keeps droping and the link speed is something like 5-13mb when standing 5ft away from router. happens on both 5gh and 2.4 networks. Ive got a samsung tablet and both devices are sitting next to each other and the tablet will get full speed but the note wont get pass the 13.

is there something that would have changed?
i tried to do a factory reset on both the router and the phone but still no improvement.

anyone experience issues with this phone?
ive still got warranty on it but would like to try to resolve locally

Have you tried killing off all running apps and other activities on your Note 3 in case something is gobbling up the bandwidth?
