AppleWatch. As leaked (the frame look, sapphire, Siri, two sizes, NFC, etc.).
Using a wheel to zoom in. That must have at least a dozen patents to it!

Swiss watch makers should definitely order caskets...

Waiting for the price and release date to be revealed...

EDIT.

Starting $350. Shipping next year. iPhone required!

Amen!

Changed the thread title to reflect the announcement.

Please note that, like all product announcement threads, anything that resembles trolling or insulting another member will result in an infraction. This includes bad jokes and puns.

The Apple watch is very under whelming. I still don't get the point of these watches. Why would you want to do phone stuff on a tiny watch - when you have to carry a phone with you anyway. The UI seems wacky too with tiny icons you have to navigate with multiple controls. The design is nothing special either with the silhouette of an old Casio watch.

Except the webcast crashed. So nobody got to view it properly.

To summarize Apple's latest show:

1. "Buy the rumours, sell the news" still works
http://investing.money.msn.com/inves...=AAPL&ocid=rqt

2. Secrecy on Apple's scale doesn't work. Design was leaked in March
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Apple...-March_id60493

3. Not much new on the iPhone front: essentially iPhone 5 in different case with bigger screen and new CPU.
Samsung had 90% of it 2.5 years ago in the form of Galaxy S III
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3...&idPhone2=4238

4. ApplePay with Secure Element, patented, of course
http://www.nfcworld.com/2011/11/09/3...nt-technology/
Now we can feel safe and sound. Somebody tell Jennifer Lawrence about it...

5. AppleWatch: the Swiss' Perl Harbor.
It is for the Apple ecosystem! As is ApplePay. 'Nuf said...

EDIT: And just like I predicted 6 weeks ago, St.Jobs commandments were never mentioned...

Well, the Apple Watch is certainly better than any of the Android Wear watches, but it costs ~$100 more. I'm still not convinced that many people would actually want a watch when you have a smartphone around. This is especially true when people tend to buy their phones at a subsidized price, so they're used to seeing a new iPhone sell for $200, and this watch will cost 75% more than the iPhone it gets paired with.

I think the iPhone 6/6 Plus phones is predictably better (and larger) than the previous 5S and I'm sure Apple will continue to do well in the high end of the phone market.

These people predicting Apple's watch will be the Pearl Harbor of the Swiss Watch industry are either delusional or paid flacks.

Here's some detail on the watch industry:

http://www.statisticbrain.com/wrist-...ry-statistics/

One blog I read said "if apples sells 30 million of these it will be $7 billion in revenue"....lol

Samsung sells less than a million of these, best of luck Apple, better hope your fanboys have lots of money to waste.

It would be nice if an electronic payment system took off...something that reaches a critical mass and becomes the standard. Unfortunately I don't see anything compelling with Apple's new payment system. Though it does appear to be easy to set up by just taking a photo of your cards then the system validates them for use.

And while some 'wearable' tech appeals to me, primarily fitness related stuff, I don't see a watch being of use. Everything the watch can do your smartphone can do better and easier and without the extra cost.

Would be nice...
But with today's state of snooping/surveillance/security I don't think a critical mass of users can be built soon.

Apple's announcement probably delayed it even further: I don't think a proprietary solution will be a final winner...

I personally love the 2 new iPhones and Watch. I'll be picking up the Watch when it starts selling next year. I think it is a really cool device. Looking forward to it.

As for the comment that the iPhone is basically the iPhone 5 in a bigger shell. Well the 6 and 6 Plus are thinner and has rounded edges. Not like the 5 or 5S at all. And who really cares that some of the new iPhones was available in the Samsung a few years ago. It's in the iPhone now, where it really matters.

I'm sure both phones will sell like hot cakes.

Apple made the stream unavailable on PCs and on Chrome, the browser from Google. But even viewers on Macs and Safari, Apple’s preferred browser, were unable to watch the early action, leaving many frustrated.
