How is the keyboard response time on an iPad 3? Been reading a lot of negative comments about that.

The response time is the same as it was before....instantaneous. It was laggy in the first couple hours, but the whole system perks up after a short bit.

Interesting. Maybe the device was simply busy performing some kind of maintenance. Does anyone know when Apple added TRIM support to iOS if at all?

Upgraded yesterday. No keyboard sluggishness on a fully loaded 64GB iPad 3.

My guess is that it is re-indexing Spotlight or perhaps learning how to optimise background multitasking at first, but then improves once those tasks are complete.
thanks - good news. you happy with the changes overall - visual look? features that ARE included for us dual-processor owners?

I'm not wild about the overall look. Some text is harder to distinguish (e.g., name of folders) and Apple deciding to flatten certain UI elements is, in IMO, not well thought out. As I'm the "tech guy" for my family and friends, I deal with a lot of inexperienced users. But they get if they tap on something that looks like a button or menu, "something" will happen. Now they have to guess if a piece of text has an action associated with it.

I do like the swipe up to reveal the Control Center and hope more apps are updated to take advantage of Apple's new background API's. Still waiting for an alarm clock radio app that works in the background.

Under settings Accessibility try Bold text. It makes the fonts more io6 like and you may find some of the text is easier to distinquish.

Sluggish Keyboard Workaround

It's not a fix and it's not logical but to get around the sluggish keyboard in ios7, go to settings/iCloud and turn off documents and data.

Of course this means you can't synch data between devices.

7.0.2 does not fix this issue.

Indeed. I wish Google would patch Android that quickly.

Android? Google gave me ONE update on a $550 phone, and then declared it a brick. Why people wax poetic about Abdroid is a mystery to me. Sure, they radically update once or twice a year, but they also seem to update beyond the capabilities of the hardware

Is it my imagination or are iPhone apps, run on an iPad looking much better, resolution wise? Before IOS7, the iphone app would appear "normal size" (i.e. small on an iPad) with a 2x button at the bottom. When in 2x mode, the app looked fuzzy.

On IOS7, there is no 2x button, the app screen is scaled up to the proper size that would fit on the iPad screen, and the resolution looks perfect.

Not your imagination. iOS 7 will use the retina assets of iPhone-only apps if available. Prior iOS versions used standard resolution assets.
