I grabbed Nova Launcher Prime during the $0.25 sale a few weeks ago, and have also used Apex Launcher Pro.

My 7 bogged down over the weekend. Was very slow to respond. Tried reboots and it was very un responsive. I was just about to do a factory reset when i decided to find a batch uninstall app and dump out about 10 apps that the kids had downloaded. I have a lot of stuff on it, wife, kids and i all use it... I noticed alot of the games are asking you to buy other games and even give reminders that you have not played in a while in the notification bar(annoying) anyway after i dumped those apps mostly games (princess this and princess that stuff) it went back to normal..

Anyway i guess i should pay more attention to what kids are downloading...

Try Kidmode, its a great app for restricting what kids can do and also has some games and things that come with it. I installed it as my 6 yr old is always wanting to play on my Tab.

Upon completion, I checked my installed apps and found 3 apps that could be updated - Google Earth, Google+, and Overdrive Media.

There are a lot of complaints on various forums that the Nexus 7 becomes sluggish when it falls below 3 gigs free memory. Google is aware of the problem and is investigating.

Came home and 4.1.2 was downloaded and verified. Clicked update system and came back later and it was all updated. Easy-as-pie!

PS: What is an OTA update? I know what the term means WRT to television but not a wifi-only tablet.

Same thing (Over-The-Air). The term was designed for cellular devices that would get the update over-the-air (as opposed to having to go through a program like iTunes or Samsung KIES). Despite the Nexus having cellular access, they still consider it OTA

I must have missed that memo. I assume we are talking about the N7 right?
