I've read $600, where did you see $650?

Costco and Future Shop offer $75 and $100 gift cards respectively. Does that only apply to new 3 yr activations, or do you think it's possible to get one of these buying the phone outright?

I can almost guarantee it's three year contracts only.

For anyone willing to wait a little longer, Mobilicity typically has the cheapest no-contract handsets. I'll probably wait until Wind and Mobilicity both carry it and then make a decision on who is cheaper and easier to buy it from.

Wind typically will not launch a new premium handset within 14 days of a major promotion, in order to prevent people from buying a phone on the promotional plan and then returning it to get the new phone. This means their launch date will likely not be until after January 22nd, since the Holiday Miracle Plan runs to January 8th.

Or be the #1 seller of the GN if they combine it with the HMP...

Some posts moved. This thread is about where to get the Galaxy Nexus contract free, not whether it is worth getting.

I read on a popular deals forum that Telephones To Go has a 1 day only instore special for $549 on Saturday January 7th - limited quantities. There's a note on their web site. They open at 10am.

I tried to but this phone over the weekend. The Best Buy Mobile store told me I had to wait 90 days(from Bells release) before buying it off-contract.

The Telus store across the hall stated they were gonna wait 2 weeks for inventory reasons.

It's amazing you can't buy a product that's in-stock.

You can buy it now if you lock into a 3 year contract - much better for their bottom line.

Cell phone contracts are outrageous and should be illegal. But, I guess that's for a different thread.

Not only amazing, but illegal. They list a no contract price so they are required to sell it at that price if they have stock. However, I doubt it's worth your time to take them to court.

If I were you though I would wait for your local Rogers or Fido to have stock, as it will be $50 cheaper there.

Simply go to a Rogers Plus store, they should not give you any trouble buying the phone outright. Plus it's cheaper outright at Rogers/Fido then it is with any of the other carriers IIRC.

IF your a telus customer already and want to stay with telus what are the top reason to want to buy the phone out right? I mean they don't give 2 monthly price structures on there monthly fees right?

You pay 600$ for the phone and pay the same 50$/month i do only get the phone for 99$? I know its a bit off topic but i often wonder why people want to pay full pop? The 3 year lock in is the only reason i can understand..

Regardless i understand the fustration. But we all know they are after the 3 year lock ins first and would rather that then sell the phones to existing customers even at full pop

I'm with Wind, just want the phone and Wind has it as "Coming Soon". It's unlocked from the factory so i doesn't matter who sells it to me.

I'm heading on holidays so I'll worry about it when I return.
