CBC releases news app for Android, Blackberry and iOS devices

Canada's public broadcaster today announced the availability of a new CBC News Mobile App for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and Android devices.

Features of the new app include real-time access to breaking news, international, national and local news, weather—content, exclusive CBC video, audio and photos, social media tools for sharing stories with others and customization options for how stories appear on your device.

One thing I've noticed is the display doesn't change when holding the phone in a horizonal position. Most other apps, including browser will do that. This feature would make it better for reading text or watching video.

I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

I sure hope they did a better job than the RDI version, I've never had any iOS app crash my iPod touch so bad that I had to give it the "three finger salute", multiple times...
