iPhone 3G S Sold Out?

Was reading on a few blogs that iPhone 3G S is sold out at many Rogers Wireless stores but still available at most Apple Stores.

Not sure how true this is but if it is, it shows Apple has really outperformed expectations.

Well I guess that kind of confirms it! I wonder if part of the problem is Canada Day and Indepence Day are causing shipment delays or just sales are that much stronger than anticipated?

I ordered my iphone 3gs upgrade June 23 and they said I would get it in 3 - 5 business days. I still have not received it i actually sold my 8G Iphone to a friend and now I'm without an iphone when i called Rogers they just told me they are sold out right now. So basically I'm without an iphone and paying for the services.

That stinks. Think you might be able to get your friend to return that old phone for a few days

Although it is likely that they really sold out, it may be possible that Apple is holding back a bit to see if there really is anything to the overheating problems, which they have kind of acknowledged (but say it is user error).

Or maybe Apple is hoping to plug up the Jailbreak hole before new units ship.

My brother was in NYC a few days back and went to check outthe big apple store. He noticed there was nearly a 100 person line, and when asking about it found out it was lineup to purchase the new iPhone.. Seems kinda crazy for that kind of demand after a few weeks of sales

try your local Apple stores. We have 2 here in Montreal (Laval). Both had all models of the new 3GS in stock.
I signed up for a Fido contract last week with no fuss, no muss.

Stock is fine now for the most part (not sure on the corporate side), but for two weeks there were literally none available from Rogers stores or dealers (not sure about Apple). The demand was a lot larger than anticipated, hopefully we don't run into these problems again for back to school in August/September. Typically the stores get stock before the call centres so always check a dealer first.

I called four Rogers Plus locations in Ottawa on Saturday and they were still out of the 32gb black model.
