I am using speakeasy.net on my desktop PC tethered to my iPhone 3GS, getting an average of 3.3Mbps down and 400kbps up, downtown Edmonton. I forgot to test in Red Deer the other day but I'm sure its faster there...sure seemed to be when I was web browsing anyway. I am now tethering my Xbox 360 via ICS to my desktop which is connected to my iPhone...to see if there is any lag and how much data is consumed with 10mins of playing time (Call of Duty 4). I have the 6GB data plan.

I wondered how you could be getting way higher than everyone else's posted performance then I saw you were using speakeasy.net and NOT speedtest.net.

Can you please post your Speedtest.net results.

Why does it show such a large distance from the server, because Rogers is registered to being from Toronto im assuming?

Also my Xbox 360 Elite is dead(2nd out of 3)...looks like I'll be RMAing that today, tried to take it apart but realized i don't have the torx set to unscrew it so no speedtesting for now.

After seeing the speeds others are getting on a 3G network I was hesitant to post the results from my 2 year old HTC Touch on an EVDO connection (it is tethered using PdaNet):

May not be the quickest but it sure is cheap ($10 /month unlimited data).

I just read on another thread that Rogers is upgrading their network to the same level as Bell's HSPDA offering.

I don't know when that's happening so I'm running a baseline now:

Download: 1611 kbps
Upload: 198 kbps

This is by the airport in Ottawa.
