I notice that Cogeco is now offering a Sports 1 pack for $10 per month. Contains all the Sportsnet channels except world.

Effective December 15, 2014, WGN SD and WGN HD will no longer be available to Cogeco customers. On January 1st, 2015, WGN is terminating all distribution rights in Canada and all Canadian providers can no longer offer this service. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I know about the new Internet Unlimited packages on offer. But, if I am happy with my present D'L speed, will they "negotiate" adding the unlimited downloads to existing speed package for a set monthly fee ?

MTS was the only other Canadian BDU carrying WGN America, which is no longer available in Canada. MTS replaced WGN America in the package with WGN Chicago as well as continuing to carry WGN Chicago in it's original package.

OK. First things first, where are you? Adding your location (just city/town and province is enough) to your profile greatly helps everyone.

That info should be able to be found at their website.
Digital Starter Pack | Cogeco Ontario

There may be a few channels not listed that you will get and others that could be missing from your local line-up. For example, here in Windsor, ON we have WKBD (ch60) and WMYD (ch62) even though they are not listed. In contrast, even though CP24 is shown, we don't have access to it at all.

Better to move service on cancel and start new?

Hey!

I've got Cogego Cable in Burlington, ON (Tivo & internet). I've had it for 3 months. I am moving in a week and am wondering if its better to cancel my service outright and then start a new account @ my new house, or to move the service. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

How Much Is Your Monthly Bill?

I'm curious what long time customers of Cogeco (like myself) are paying per month. I recently contacted Cogeco because my yearly contract pricing was about to expire and I needed more bandwidth.

I was previously paying $63.99 for TV (Digital Select 1) and $39.95 for Internet (Turbo 40 175GB). Without any hard negotiating on my end I was offered an upgrade to Ultimate 60 for $41.95 but they wouldn't budge on TV pricing. The rep told me that their TV special offerings consist of FREE receivers, which I don't require as I own all my receivers. I accepted the offer thinking that an extra 100GB per month of bandwidth would be plenty.

Well it turns out that more speed has resulted to more usage (at least for me) and I will indeed require an unlimited package, while possibly downgrading my TV package to Flex 5. My question is, what is the best price I can expect to pay for Ultimate 60 (Unlimited) or Ultimate 120 (425GB)? I want to make sure I get the best deal they are willing to offer before I accept. The guy I spoke with last month said it would be about $20 but he didn't get into all the details.

It is now 00:12 am eastern time March 01.

I do not see any mention of a skinny basic package on Cogeco's website.

Yes, it's Feb. 29th 2016. :-)

Cogeco is late to the table with their skinny basic offering, but it's still within CRTC parameters re: time frame. Most BDU's have announced their offerings.

For those on Cogeco, once this gets announced, a posting here: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/12-t...-launches.html thread in the main TV area would be appreciated.
