I just got my price increase notice from Rogers - no doubt to fund the army of programmers that they have enhancing my TV viewing experience.

Anyway - this one is signed by the apparently new Executive Vice-President Marketing Residential Services - a Kelly Atkinson.

They need the price increase to pay for all the propaganda ads telling everyone how wonderful Navigatr is.

Yep - looks like Rogers gave Little Ronnie P a promotion for all the GREAT work he did on Navigatr.

Great to so so many censored rebels over here. I was getting really tired of getting all my posts deleted.

Does anyone have a sense of whether Rogers is actually going to fix these problems or leave us hanging like they've done since July? It's one thing for it to be a pain to program shows and have bugs, it's another to have the machine go into a coma and have rogers doing continuous downloads regardless of it being prime time or not. It's been 8 nights of frustration, unfortunately I own my box, so big expense to switch...but at some point enough is enough.

Do we have any lawyers among us? I keep thinking that there has to be scope for a class action against Rogers. I can't see anything else waking them up.

Small claims court would work for me as an individual to recoup the $s I'm sending them each month to rent this piece of ... but one at a time would have no impact I suspect.

The problem seems to be that they are just not listening to what they are being told over and over again and are censoring any attempts to warn other visitors coming to their forums of the problems ahead.

Just thinking out loud.

Rogers State Bureau for Censorship & 5 year plans

Well it looks like the knives are sharp over on Rogers Community Forums again this morning. Already had 3 posts bite the dust.

It seems anything even mildly critical of the Emperor's new clothes (Rogers Navikrap) disappears quickly.
Maybe it's because the newly returned RogersMargaret has no sense of humour or understanding of sarcasm.

SDRF posted this in the New Navigatr thread:
I have a new issue where every couple of minutes the screen just goes black for a second or two and then comes back on. This is new to me.

My reply (removed) was:
Temporary blindness caused by extremely high blood pressure, induced by anger at Navigatr.

SDRF's reply to that was REMOVED as "off topic" (instead of just editing off the bomb comment), and my subsequent reply was also banished:

SDRF wrote:

Right now it looks like a blood pressure monitor. On the box LED there is an H with a bunch of numbers counting up and down very quickly. Been like that for about an hour. Rogers may have come up with a solution turn the box into a bomb.

I wrote:
Well Navigatr has been a bomb since the day it was released.
Maybe we're supposed to count backwards with the numbers, until you fall asleep or into a hypnotic trance, where all the anger at Navigatr drains away and your blood pressure drops.
THAT'S IT ! Navigatr is an advanced combined blood pressure stress testing, monitoring & treatment system !
You'll soon be seeing ads for Rogers Medical.

In reply to the PM from RogersDarrell notifying me of the post's removal I replied:

Wow - Margaret is REALLY cracking the whip on you guys isn't she.
Bet you wish she was still off on mat leave and Strick was still in charge.
Most of your forum members certainly do.

Never mind, most of us are cutting way back on what we post on these forums with their newly reinforced Soviet era levels of censorship, and are saying far nastier things about Rogers Navi*k*r*a*p on the uncensored, Digital Home forums (and elsewhere) where we are totally free from the Rogers overbearing control exhibited here in the little sandbox Rogers created for their customers to vent in hope they wouldn't post so many nasty things on Facebook/Twitter/other forums - and pass on comments that appear in Ellen Roseman's Toronto Star column.

The Rogers Communications Annual General Meeting in April is sure going to be fun.

PS - has anyone else received in the mail a pre-approved offer for a Rogers MasterCard ?
Would ANYONE with an IQ higher than their shoe size trust Rogers with their finances ?
(especially when the "cash back" on the card is limited to spending on Rogers garbage).

An infinite number of monkeys ?

Molly222

My guess would be the programming team for RTN/Navigatr are being kept chained to their desks with attached IV's, under intense pressure from Obergruppenführer Perrotta to meet the deadline for the 4K PVR rollout (trying to beat their April date, and Bell, AND get it done before the annual Rogers shareholder's meeting in April) and therefore they have even less time to test their code patches (hmmm, less than zero ?) and are therefore firing out completely untested garbage in a desperate attempt that maybe eventually they'll fix SOMETHING.

Picture that old Molson Canadian I Am ad with an infinite number of monkeys pounding away at an infinite number of typewriters...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSvp6E6N1n8

Now imagine one monkey (because the rest were fired to redirect money at all the propaganda ads telling us how wonderful Navigatr is) with a keyboard and a shared monitor. That's Roger's Navigatr development team.
I imagine the Navigatr/Programming Lab looks something like this:

I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! It's too bad that Rogers doesn't realize that jokes like "the temporary blindness" you posted there earlier actually relieve the tension for many of us and lighten the forum a bit...I was disappointed to see them take it down. I believe the Nazi's must be on lunch 'cause there are a lot of comments over the past hour that I thought for sure they'd take down.

As for a Rogers credit card...no haven't received it...I did receive a call from some poor Rogers salesperson yesterday wanting me to buy more services...they called while a rogers downdump was wrecking my recordings...the poor person got an earful...although I have told Rogers numerous times over the past 6 months that they should delete Navigatr customers from their sales call sheets as it's really unfair to the poor unsuspecting sales people.

I hope you're right that they are scrambling to fix this before the shareholders meetings...I've held on for 6 months and can't take much more. I'd switch, but I own the box and I'm pretty sure in the next few years we'll be cutting the cable and just watch stuff over the internet...just not quite ready for that yet.

To: Jon P

I wish I was a lawyer...because I think you're right about the class action...there must be laws about making people go blind reading small script and I know my husband hooked up a power bar with an on/off switch to the box a few days ago because he said constantly unplugging in and out directly from the outlet (numerous times a day due to the Rogers Coma feature) may start a fire...he's a Fire Department Captain.

At the very least you should phone Rogers and get a credit...I haven't paid a full Rogers bill since this whole Navicrap started July 28...I call them every two months and ask for customer retention. I bet this would be reason for class action as well...some people are getting credits for this mess (helps pay for the therapy sessions we need), while others are not...sounds like discrimination to me!

I think it's time more of us started speaking out about Rogers and Navigatr and other aspects of Rogers on all websites that are relevant. I posted on Yelp years ago, but I would hope that any of you who read this will search for places you can comment about Rogers, including the Rogers Facebook page, Twitter, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, etc.

If Rogers is going to erase SO MANY comments from their own website - they we owe it to them to post LOTS everywhere else we can.
