Using both the SA4250 HDMI and Component outputs at the same time ?

I have the illico SA4250 box and I wish to connect it to a new 24" PC monitor via HDMI (it works well) and also a 19" LCDTV in the same room, using the component outputs. However, the 4250 manual says an active HDMI port blocks the component output. Even with the PC monitor off the component output will not work. On the regular composite output, I get a message informing me that the HDMI port is "blocked" but no signal through the component outs. If I actually remove the HDMI cable from the back of the 4250, the component output works perfectly.

Is there any configuration setting I can change that will allow both at the same time? I don't want this to watch both at the same time but rather to leave the HDMI cable plugged into the 4250 and the monitor so that I don't have to hook it up every time I want to watch HDTV on the big monitor. The other alternative would be to buy some kind of HDMI splitter box and drive both displays with HDMI (the TV has an HDMI input). However, a quick Google last night didn't produce any such splitters for less than $100! Anyone know of a low-priced HDMI splitter (assuming there's no way of fixing the 4250 for dual output)?

You cannot use them both at the same time - the HDMI needs to be "terminated" to have CV work - there are several ways to do this (unplugging being one, a switch being another). See the following thread on Rogers discussing the topic:
