Recording on demand show to DVD?

I have HD PVR and I was wondering if it was possible to record either a pay per view movie or a on demand show with Illico for personal use? Like the Paul McCartney concert for example?

You mention the PVR and a DVD - what type of DVD, Recorder? PC? I'm a bit confused by your question, but will answer as best I can.

You can record PPV onto the HDPVR, however, you cannot record VOD onto the PVR. Once on the PVR, you can then easily transfer it to a DVD recorder via S-video or composite video, plus analogue audio for audio.

You could record VOD by also connecting a DVD recorder as indicated above, however, then you'd have to record while the VOD is "on" since you cannot record VOD on the PVR.

Oops I meant recording a video on demand to DVD, not to the PVR. I don't have a DVD recorder yet but I wanted to check if it was possible before I ordered Paul McCartney's and Celine Dion's concerts.

Any recommendations on a cheap dvd recorder?

I added a paragraph about recording VOD at the end of my previous post - you probably were typing while I was doing that....

As for recorders, see the DVD recorder section of this forum and see the options. Mostly you get what you pay for.

Here's how to connect it:

You may want to try it out by recording a VOD programme that has no cost.
