question about recording HD.

Hi, I'm new here and I have a simple question for you guys. I'm sure it was probably ask 1000 times in the past, but I really don't have the time to search for it.

My question is: What is the best way to record my HD signal
(from my cable box: SA 4250HD) to my computer with a good image quality.
I don't have a PVR and I want my computer to do the PVR.

Is there a way I can record one channel and listen to an other?

Thank you for your answer!

you would need a pvr for your pc that is capable of recording an HD signal.

here is an example of one. have not used it personally, but i heard its currently one of the best.

i dont believe there is a way to watch a different channel and record another, unless you have another analog signal
which ofcourse wont be using your hd box at all.

Two STBs or the SA8300HD.

Yeah, typing "record* computer" into the site's search engine takes a lot of effort.
