I emailed and called Videotron, and they said that they will not be carrying it. No reason was given. The rep on the phone seemed to be reading from a script, so I'm guessing a lot of people are asking about it.
Not cool. Their French version was approved, if they can't get their act together and get this on the air, why should we have to wait for the ENglish version? I really should cancel that contract, satellite TV seems more appealing.
With all do respect,
I REPEAT, the superchannels will be broadcast in every market (cable or satellite) with in canada.
Again, Customer service knows nothing.
Here the website for the proof. http://www.allarcoentertainment.com/
You can look in the right side in the little ''to subscribe'' window.
"Super Channel will be available through all the major Canadian service providers, both cable and satellite. Please contact your provider of choice to let them know that you are interested in subscribing to Super Channel in the fall."
This doesn't mean all providers of services. Smaller companies definitely won't be caring the service to start.
Videotron is the 4th biggest provider in canada (cable or satellite).
I called Allarco and they confirmed that Videotron will carry it.
They probably will carry it, but they don't have to because the license make it mandatory to carry it for all cable provider in an English market. Videotron is not in an English market except for the few small town they have in eastern Ontario.
Since they are launching 6 channels (including 2 in HD) and an on demand service, I am pretty sure we will not get all of them. We would get TMN on Demand before Superchannel on demand and also, they would give their TMN subscriber the 2nd HD channel (MMore HD) before giving Superchannel 2 HD channel.
I predict that they will get only 1 HD channel if any...
