Is there a way to skip Channels??

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to skip over some channels like:
Galaxy Channels, VCC channels

The only way I found was to use the FAV button... But it only goes one way
and it slow... I would like to do it with the Up/Down arrow.

I have a 8300HD with a 8400 remote

Thanks

At this time there is no way to customize the IPG to "skip" certain channels that you don't wish to see. This has been discussed many times before in several threads regarding the SA STBs.

Cool what do you mean?

Do you mean skip channels in the IPG, or do you mean skip channels with the up/down channel button?

I've found that the up/down channel button will skip channels to which you are not subscribed, but not in the IPG. It is similar to the FAV button, but goes in both directions.

Live and let live.

With the recent firmware update on the SA8300HD by Videotron, you might wish to see if they added that feature...

Scan the various menu (settings) items

With both my SA8000HD and my SA8300SD I can use the "Page" + or - button in the IPG. And I can do the same with my Harmony 880.

Sure, but that doesn't "remove" the channels you don't want to see from the IPG, which is what people want. It is possible to do this with some service providers (BEV and I believe the new firmware for the Motorolas)

How dows skipping channels with up/down works?? I have a SA8300 SD and using the up and down channel keys goes through all the channels, even though I don't have suscribed to these channels... Annoying!

When there are new channels, at least you can see them.

For quicker surfing of the IPG channels, use the page + or - key on your remote.

I have an SA8000HD PVR. While watching television (no IPG on screen) the "+" channel and "-" channel allows me to surf the stations to which I am subscribed. It would bug me quite a bit if videotron showed me channels on-screen while channel surfing to which I am not subscribed.
