Unhappy Montreal South Shore

So far they added the 2 fireplace channels which were SO necessary and the Sportsnet 360.
Nothing I currently pay for or want. I called, they said the others are coming...maybe by the weekend, or call us back. We'll see....

I still don't have the new channels, but yet I live in greater Montreal. What's up Videotron?

Which receiver do you have. I had inquired a couple of weeks ago and tech support told me the new HD channels are only available if you have the current gen receivers.

Yes, you do need the Illico 2 terminals to get the new HD channels. Additionally some areas of East Montreal and surrounding areas don't have the new channels. Any one of these two things could be the issue.

I have two of the new receivers (Samsung & Cisco) both with the next gen software. I live in Rosemont. According to the article the channels are supposed to be available in greater Montreal. I called Videotron to ask why I don't have the new channels yet and the guy was a joke. He had no idea and just kept asking me a bunch of different questions.

Fagstein wrote an article about the weird channel distribution. While there is no clear answer, technology limitations and Videotron mismanagement appear to be why a) the channels aren't available to everyone on the island and b) why it isn't being communicated - at all.

My friend who lives in Lachine has the all the new HD channels and he didn't even know or really care when I showed him. I live in Rosemont and don't have the channels, but I keep checking everyday hoping they will appear. Doesn't really seem fair

Some people who have them don't deserve them. I check maybe twice a week, but my I don't think they will appear that fast. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have them a year from now.

Those of you who do not have the new HD channels call VIDEOTRON and tell you will switch to bell vibe TV if they do not give you new receivers FREE. For me it worked and now I have all channels in HD.. (I actually had an offer from bell)
Remember VIDEOTRON will not change your receiver if you do not ask them. There are competition in the market and if they want to keep their clients they have to be flexible.

Even with the new decoders, like I have, if you are not in the modernized area, you will not get the new HD channels.

But I read this morning on Facebook, that they are now available in the Charlemagne area ( Terrebonne/ Repentigny, I guess).
Some guy said they appeared this morning.

I'm in Repentigny and a bunch of new HD channels appeared yesterday. Too many to mention but Movietime, Nat Geo Wild, ID, Sportsnet Ontario, West & Pacific, Wild and Encore 2 are some of them
