"Additional terminal access fee"

Is there a new "Additional terminal access fee"? I just checked my account on the customer service centre of Videotron.ca and it says I have three seperate monthly charges of $2.99:

1) HD Network access fee
2) Network access fee - Digital TV
and which definitely is not right...
3) Additional terminal access fee

Any comments? I definitely did not accept this.

If you have more than one terminal then there is an extra fee. I can't find the page on the site that explains it, but I've read it before, have spoken to them about it, and seen my parents invoice. This is normal and standard if you have more than one box.

I think two extra terminals is 2.99$ and more than 2 costs 4.99$...but don't quote me. They don't charge per terminal, however, so you can have lots and only pay a set fee.

Found it! If you log into your account on the Videotron website and look to modify your television options then there is a note that explains if you have more than one terminal there will be additional fees.

"If you have more than one illico terminal, access fees apply:
$2.99/month for the 1st additionnal terminal OR
$4.99/month if you have 2 additionnal terminal or more"

I was wrong about the number of terminals.

If you don't have a second terminal then you might want to take it up with them, or if you don't use the other one you can ask them to deactivate it and the charge will go away.

Yeah. The Network Access fee is normal for regular digital service. If you have HD then the HD Access Fee is extra.

I was once told if I also get their internet service, they would remove the $2.99 network fee....

When you combine services they give you additional discounts. So there may be a 3$ savings attributed when you get TV and Internet; in essence it would be free.

I have combined Internet and cable service. There are two discounts/rebates on my bill. A "Rebate: Bundled services" for $3.00 and a "Internet discount - cabled & committed" for $20.00. The second discount requires that you commit to the Internet service for a 12 month period.
