Can anyone confirm that "Remote PVR" (I think that's what it was called) has been shut down for the 9241's? I used to be able to manage my PVR (setup new recordings, delete recordings, view the guide, etc.) online via my PC but I think they canned that functionality (maybe when Fibre was released)

I used to access it via http://belltv4.sling.com/index.mobile.php

Something happened to my PVR recordings. Was watching something lastnight and it wss fine.. this morning there is all kinds of new things in my recorded list that I never recorded. And they all say " This PVR event has experienced data corruption and has been recovered" and thenno longer play..
It seems to work fine to record new stuff but most of my old stuff is gone.. Any ideas?

Can't control 9241 by UHF

The HDD kakked in one of my 9241s so I bought a used one as a replacement. I set the remote address (?) as 1 (it was set to 8) & it works fine with IR, but doesn't respond to UHF.
The remote that came with it doesn't have the IR/UHF thing at the bottom of the remote so I tried it with 2 others that have it. Both control it by IR, but not with UHF.
The 9241 came with the UHF antenna.
Any ideas?

I posted & remote central & was told that the receiver can be set for IR or UHF. I found this & it worked:
Configure receiver to use UHF remote:
Press and hold the SAT button on the remote until all lights flash red for the device selects across the top and the SAT button flashes. Press RECORD button 3 times, I was on the System Info screen and see that box 'i' displaying the remote type changes to IR/UHF Pro Band B/Rem Addr 14.

Unhappy 9241 DVR attempts to record 3 programs!

We had the 9241 for several years, and it's been very reliable. Recently, a problem has emerged regarding recording and priority settings. Example: Last night, at 9PM, there were three timers set to record. Normally, the one with the highest number/lowest priority would be skipped. When I viewed "My Recordings" shortly after 9 PM, two programs were recording. However, I knew something was wrong, because the program with the highest priority/lowest number was NOT recording. When I viewed the Schedule, ALL THREE programs were highlighted as if they were recording. But only two actually did (record).

This has happened twice now, and coincidentally, both times it was a Tuesday night at the 9:00 hour. I deleted all of the three 9PM timers, re-created them and re-set their priority. This situation is scheduled to occur again next Tuesday. If I look at the Schedule now, everything looks right. The third (lowest priority) program is skipped. But how will it be on the actual night?

BTW, I don't think disk space is an issue. We have 29 HD and 98 SD hours available.

Why not try to record one of the shows at a different time/date?

It might be an issue. Most firmware doesn't allow you to get anywhere near 100% of your recording space because you then encounter problems with functionality. Some firmware may restrict you to say 80% full, which you may be approaching or even passed. (I'm not with Bell TV, so I don't know how many hours of HD recordings you get to begin with.)

Performance can fall off with as little as 50% of your space used, so it's often recommended that you don't use your PVR as an archive. It's intended to be used to time-shift programming, not as a storage device for programmes recorded.

I doubt this is the cause of your particular issue, but it may be a contributing factor. As suggested in the post above, with all the time-shifting channels available, along with repeat airings of many programmes, you should be able to find an alternate time for one of your programmes.

All bev receiver when you get a 005 code, you need to power OFF the unit,do a self synchro via Bell webpage or phone, and you ird turn up. Mine pass over one night at OFF position and the next day i put it ON and everithing was up.

9241 and IR Blaster compatibility.

Before I posted this question I did a search of this forum hoping someone else may have solved my problem. No luck, here's my issue, I have a Bell 9241 PVR that's been running without any issues until I tried to configure an IR Blaster to it. I recently purchased an Android TV which has a remote capable of controlling the Bell PVR through an IR Blaster. Until I purchased this TV I have never even heard of an IR Blaster, I have followed all the steps in the owner's manual but no luck getting it to recognize the PVR. Does anyone know if the 9241 is even IR Blaster compatible? Are there any workarounds? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Don't know squat about IR Blasters.
9241 like all bell boxes can have different addresses for the remotes. Maybe the IRBlaster is on the wrong address. Did you try the sync remote option where go to sys info screen and hit record on the remote(IRBlaster). The 9241 will switch to the remote code of the device.

Thanks for the quick reply jdevlin, yes I tried the sync option and both the receiver and remote have the same address. I even switched the remote back from UHF to IR thinking that might help but it didn't. I'm at a loss to figure out what to do next, I can't be the only one with a Sony TV and a Bell receiver.

Try setting the Bell receiver's remote address to the "default", which I believe is "000".

I haven't tried that, currently both the receiver and remote are at 3. How do you change make that change?
